UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, invites all exhibition professionals to join the 2019 UFI European Conference, which will take place in Birmingham (UK), 15-17 May. Registration for the event is now open. Under the theme "The Organisers’ Future", the conference will focus on what is in store for organisers in Europe and beyond.

Due to take place on 8-9 April at the Dubai World Trade Centre (UAE), the UFI MEA Regional Conference’s theme is “Embracing Change, Looking Forward to the Future”. It will bring together exhibition industry professionals from the Middle East and Africa to discuss opportunities related to the ongoing changes in the industry.

Messe München further enhances the integration of its Russian business into the group. The subsidiary CTT Expo LLC has a new company name: Messe Muenchen Rus LLC. "The name change is an important milestone in the strategic business development in Russia", the trade fair organiser reported.

Messe Frankfurt Group deploys electric transport vehicles for zero-emission deliveries on the Frankfurt exhibition grounds. The electric vehicles are being used for Messe Frankfurt exhibitors and visitors as part of a two-year trial, the trade fair organiser announces.

To effectively serve its members, UFI - the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has decided to expand its team at the Paris headquarters. Malgorzata Kozlowska will join as Event and Project Coordinator, while Frankie Edwards will take on the role of Marketing and Communications Coordinator.

Reed Exhibitions, a division of RELX Group, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Mack Brooks Exhibitions. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory consents and is expected to close during the first half of 2019.

According to a new Global Visitor Insights study, trade show visitors globally are reporting a stable overall satisfaction with the shows they attend – but at the same time, between 22 and 27 per cent of show visitors from mature markets feel that shows are "getting worse".

Reed Exhibitions has announced a new joint venture with the Shanghai Forever Exhibition. The new company, Reed Exhibitions Hengjin, will manage the Automotive Manufacturing Technology & Material Show (AMTS), China’s leading trade event in automotive engineering, as well as the co-located Assembly & Handling Technology Exhibition (AHTE).

After introducing the format in China, NürnbergMesse is now also adding "vocational training" to the content of selected trade fairs in India. Its expert partner in this endeavour is the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK), the German trade fair organiser announces.

According to Messe Berlin, between January and December 2018 over 120 in-house and guest events in Berlin attracted more than 2.5 million visitors. Some 40,000 companies and institutions from over 180 countries were represented at the various events.
