The IFAT Environmental Technology Forum Africa is being renamed to IFAT Africa. The portfolio is now being expanded and will in future encompass all the segments being offered by IFAT Munich.

Effective 1 March 2016, Konstantin von Vieregge (37) will be the new CEO of African subsidiary South African Shows Messe Frankfurt in Johannesburg. In doing so, he will be joining the existing management team.

Messe München is buying CTT EXPO in Moscow, the world’s fifth largest construction machinery trade fair. This acquisition is both the biggest and most important purchase in Messe München's history. The seller is private Russian trade fair company Media Globe LLC. For Messe München the commitment in Moscow is the entrée to a new market.

For the MCH Group and its companies, 2016 is a special year: under the motto "100 Years Ahead" they are not only celebrating the 100th Muba but, at the same time, the 100th anniversary of the company group and the founding of the modern trade-fair industry in Switzerland. The first Swiss Industries Fair was staged in Basel in 1917.

Carmen Walker Späh, member of the Government Council of the Canton of Zurich, will be joining the Board of Directors of MCH Group Ltd. on 1 January 2016. The Government Council of the Canton of Zurich has delegated the Head of the Department for Economic Affairs to the Board of Directors for the term of office running until 2019.

Sponsored by the City of Metz, the Metz Métropole council and the Moselle Département, the new convention centre aims to boost the economic attractiveness of the city and its conurbation. Situated near the city city, it will be easily accessible by all transport means. GL events is charge of operating the venue, which is scheduled to open during the first half of 2018.

Legend Exhibitions’ portfolio includes RBTE (Retail Business Technology Expo), Retail Design Expo, Retail Digital Signage Expo as well as three online content platforms (Essential Retail, Retail Design World and Essential Ecommerce). The company also runs summits and forums for the retail sector that address the dynamic developments taking place in-store, online and in the multichannel environment.
