The 2018 edition of the "Global CEO Summit" (GCS), the exhibition industry’s global annual curtain raiser event for C-level executives, will move to Cannes, France for 2018, and take place 24 to 26 January, UFI - The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry announced.

Effective 1 May 2017, Christoph Menke (32) has taken over as the Project Manager responsible for photokina, Cologne's world-leading trade fair for photography and video. He succeeds Jörg Schmale, who has been responsible for the project management of Kind + Jugend at Koelnmesse since the end of March 2017.

Artexis Easyfairs, the Brussels-based events organiser and venue manager, has announced the appointment of Roland Brand as its new Head of Region for Switzerland. Artexis Easyfairs identified Brand as being ideally qualified to drive forward the company’s ambitious plans for new product launches and acquisitions in the Swiss market.

Fiera Milano announced that it has signed an equity purchase agreement to sell 75 per cent of the equity interest of its Chinese subsidiary, Worldex - an exhibition organiser which organises, among other events, the "Food Hospitality World China" event - together with its associated trademarks, to SingEx Exhibitions.

Informa, the International Exhibitions, Events, Business Intelligence and Academic Publishing Group, announced the agreed acquisition of Yachting Promotions Inc. ("YPI"), the operator of some of the largest yachting and boat shows in the US, for £106m.

The German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has awarded Koelnmesse the commission to organise and operate the German Pavilion at the by awarded for the organisation and operation of the German Pavilion at the world exhibition in Dubai from October 2020 through April 2021.

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, has announced the theme of this year's UFI Global Congress: "Raising the Odds - Pressures and Profits in the Exhibition Industry". The event takes place 1-4 November 2017 in Johannesburg (South Africa).

"Expo! Expo!" - IAEE’s Annual Meeting & Exhibition 2017 will be held 28-30 November in San Antonio, Texas at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. IAEE is the largest association of the exhibitions and events industry in the world, with a membership of show organizers, exhibitors and exhibition suppliers.
