Available exhibition space is one of the main drivers of the development of the exhibition industry, and venue space continues to grow in most regions of the world. Following the release of preliminary data, UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, released its full report on the World Map of Exhibition Venues.

Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, Greater China's headquarters of the global leading trade fair organiser Messe Frankfurt GmbH has acquired a major proportion of Beijing Traders-Link Plus International Exhibition Co Ltd, organiser of the Automotive Maintenance & Repair Expo (AMR) in Beijing.

UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, announces the opening of a regional office in Latin America. Based in Bogota, Colombia, the new office will serve the growing number of UFI members across Latin America, and will be the base for collaborations with national and region industry associations.

NuernbergMesse's Hall 3C has only reached its topping-out ceremony, but one thing is already clear: it will be a jewel, and a new attention-getter in the southwest corner of the exhibition centre. Arne Petersen (46) has taken the helm of Messe Husum & Congress as managing director with effect from 1 January 2018, replacing Peter Becker (49), who leaves the company at the end of the year. Also new to the team is Andrea Werner, the new project manager for HUSUM Wind.

At present, nine UFI events are confirmed for 2018 including the 85th UFI Global Congress in St. Petersburg, Russia (31 October - 3 November 2018). To serve the fast-growing number of members in Latin America, the 1st Latin America Regional Conference is being prepared for September in Mexico City.

For its "outstanding" customer service, Messe Essen has received the "Best Service Quality 2017/18" mark of distinction jointly awarded by a magazine and the Statista statistics portal and has occupied third place in the Trade Fair Organiser category.

Core data from UFI's World Map of Exhibition Venues shows growth of global venue space: As the total amount of exhibition space available around the world continues to grow, exhibition organisers have a more and more diverse choice of venues available in their target markets.

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) has selected this year's honorees of its 20 Under 30 recognition program, which affords young professional exhibitions and events organizer members the opportunity to experience Expo! Expo! IAEE's Annual Meeting & Exhibition to be held 28-30 November 2017 in San Antonio, Texas.

Cordelia von Gymnich (56) has taken over at the helm of Messe Frankfurt's Services division effective 1 October 2017. In this capacity, she succeeds Dr. Andreas Winckler, who was appointed to the Extended Board of Management of Messe Frankfurt as Chief of Information Technology.
