The programme for the 2nd International Thermprocess Summit in Düsseldorf on 27-28 June, 2017 has been finalised. The two-day conference will, for example, be dealing not only with scientific and practical aspects of thermo process technology but also with the general global, economic and industry policy conditions.

With a theme park Industry 4.0, METAV 2018 - the 20th International Exhibition for Metalworking Technologies, will be held from 20 to 24 February 2018 in the Düsseldorf Exhibition Halls. The registration documents have just been dispatched, the trade fair organizer Messe Düsseldorf announced.

The "Lightweighting in Baden-Württemberg" pavilion in Hall 6 ranks among the big highlights at the Industrial Supply show at this year's HANNOVER MESSE. From 24 to 28 April 2017, 10 companies from the German state of Baden-Württemberg will be showcasing their latest lightweight solutions on the pavilion's 220 square meters (2,370 sq. ft) of display space.

Preventing corrosion and its consequences is a key issue in most industries because the cost of corrosion in Germany alone amounts to billions of euros. In addition, the marine growth on surfaces is a huge challenge for shipping, offshore wind turbines, and underwater steel structures. Fraunhofer IFAM has many years of experience developing effective corrosion protection systems and antifouling strategies.

The printing, coating and bonding of plastics requires the surface to be pre-treated. Flame treatment is one way to achieve this so-called activation. It is currently being used in many industrial sectors and has considerable potential for development. In cooperation with an industry partner, Fraunhofer IAP in Potsdam is expanding the opportunities provided by flame treatment.

Qualifications and further training is one of the focal themes at Moulding Expo. With the slogan "Get your future in shape!", the subject of training and education will be presented at Messe Stuttgart on 30 May - 2 June, 2017.

With more exhibition space and new thematic hall planning, AMB will take place on 18-22 September, 2018 in Stuttgart. "With the construction of the Paul Horn Hall (Hall 10) we can finally respond to our exhibitors' desire for growth," says Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, President of Messe Stuttgart.
