The cancellation of economic sanctions is paving the way for the revival of business relations with Iran. Great importance is being attached to the entire value creation chain in manufacturing technology. AMB with its international exhibitors and the the German Machine Tool Builders' Association (VDW)with its German members are supporting the resumption of business relations with Iranian companies. The aim of the two partners is to establish an international platform for manufacturing technology for the Iranian market and neighbouring countries. An enormous economic boom in Iran is expected worldwide.
"AMB in Stuttgart is one of the large industrial trade fair events. Together with our partners, we are exporting this recipe for success to the Iranian market, which is now opening up," explains Ulrich Kromer, Management Representative at Messe Stuttgart. With AMB, the international exhibition for metal working, Messe Stuttgart has established a leading event for the machine tool and precision tool industry on the European level that takes place every two years. The trade fair occupies the entire Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre with a gross surface area of 105,000 m² and attracts 90,000 visitors. Together with the VDW, with AMB Iran Messe Stuttgart is hosting an event in Tehran for the first time. What's special is that the VDW is co-organiser of AMB Iran, in cooperation with Messe Stuttgart. The Boostan Goftegoo´s Exhibition & Conference Center in Tehran has been selected as the event venue. Promotional supporters for the event are the VDMA Precision Tools Association and the VDMA Measuring and Testing Technology Association.
Industrial centre Tehran
The Iranian industrial and trading city, with its universities, colleges, libraries and museums, is an important centre for business, science and culture. Furthermore, Tehran is also an important national transport hub. Located on a site of around 145,000 square metres (gross area), the Boostan Goftegoo (Dialogue Park) is home to various facilities, including the trade fair centre, conference rooms, a library, restaurants and a park. The Boostan Gaftegoo´s Exhibition & Conference Center offers five exhibition halls with 7,290 square and conference rooms for up to 500 participants. The site is located close to the Milad Towers and various international hotels, and is connected by highways to the transport network.
"With our powerful members from the machine tool industry and our international experience in organising symposiums and trade fairs, we are in great demand as a partner for the Iranian companies. The first discussions went very well and we can report keen interest in participation," stresses Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Director of the VDW. Owing to the international sanctions, which were triggered by the long-term dispute over atomic power, investments in business and trade with Iran were suspended for a long period.
The cancellation of the sanctions now gives the country the chance to modernise its industry. The good political and economic relations between Germany, other industrial nations and Iran are now being re-established. The Federal Minister of Economic Affairs Gabriel already visited Iran in July 2015 to hold initial talks. For German companies, who even before the sanctions were among Iran's most important business partners, a wide range of opportunities are opening up.
