Blechexpo and Schweisstec: Back in November 2017

Where competence meets practical know-how: On 7-10 November, 2017, the 13th Blechexpo and the 6th Schweisstec will be held at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre. According to trade fair organizer Schall Messen, "Blechexpo is profiting from a genuine registration boom."

The 13th Blechexpo and the 6th Schweisstec will take place in Stuttgart on 7-10 November, 2017.
Despite the difficult situation with competition in 2017, Schweisstec is evolving further, step by step, and is benefitting from the persistent trend of being able to offer complete manufacturing solutions to end customers, which in turn necessitates a closed process sequence as an essential prerequisite. Apart from that, even manufacturers of sheet metal processing machines and progressive dies for stamping, forming and joining are now offering complete solutions with more and more integrated functions which, after taking a closer look, can already be seen as closed process sequences in a compact format.

According to information received from project manager Georg Knauer, it’s already evident “that Blechexpo and Schweisstec 2017 will almost certainly top the record-breaking results obtained in 2015.” This statement makes reference to currently firm-booked exhibition floor space, because many of the returning exhibitors will have larger booths in order to be able to present their companies to the expert visitors from all over the world even better and more impressively.

Beginning with design engineering, modern sheet metal, pipe and profile processing has long since been demonstrating the frequently invoked Industry 4.0 structures by means of additional functions including programming and machining, as well as downstream joining operations including quality assurance and all automation modules, of which the expert visitors were able to convince themselves on the occasion of the last Blechexpo and Schweisstec.

Sheet metal processing machines, cutting and forming technologies, pipe and profile processing, joining and fastening solutions, semi-finished sheet metal, pipe and profile products on the one hand and, on the other hand, thermal cutting and processing, thermal and mechanical joining, fastening technologies and processes, automated welding technologies, accessories and operating equipment: all of this together embodies the condensed nomenclature for the portfolio of products and services offered by the two complementary trade fairs Blechexpo and Schweisstec. And thus the two technical events provide absolutely logical synergies for exhibitors and expert visitors alike, because in modern production environments based on Industry 4.0 structures there’s no more room at all for isolated observation – on the contrary, networked thinking and interdisciplinary action are in demand.

Together with the Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology which is intentionally held concurrent to the Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal processing, the event goes full circle for users and covers everything from commercial fabrication right on up to industrial production of parts, modules and complete solutions made of sheet metal, pipe and profiles.

Blechexpo 2015: More robots and handling systems than ever

The annual event for the sheet metal, pipe and profile processing industries, the Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal processing and the Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology, will be focusing on solutions which are aligned to process sequences – and the automation of processes and materials handling plays a significant role in this respect. As a result, more robots and handling systems will be showcased at Blechexpo and Schweisstec than ever before, and the same applies above all to automated thermal curing and joining technology, as well as mechanical fastening. Schweisstec 2017: A seamless extension

Schweisstec, the trade fair complementary to Blechexpo, makes a decisive contribution to the "process sequence" trade fair concept, which more than simply supplements the process sequence for sheet metal, pipe and profile processing with the fields of thermal and mechanical welding, joining and fastening technology, but rather seamlessly extends them. Smart sensors detect defects

In the field of quality assurance, intelligent, nondestructive sensor systems play a key role. They allow testing components and parts in a rapid and cost-efficient manner without destroying the actual product or changing its surface. Fraunhofer IZFP will be presenting two exhibits at Blechexpo that allow fast, reliable, and automated characterization of materials and detection of defects. (more…)
