Edwin Tan new CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai

For its China business, Messe München is taking on a top executive with international connections: the new CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai as from March 1, 2017 is Edwin Tan - a trade-show expert and Asia specialist with over twenty years of management experience.

As from March 1, 2017, Edwin Tan is the new CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai.
In the course of his career, the new CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai has acquired experience in the exhibition sector and the implementation of international strategies in the event industry. Most recently, Edwin Tan was president of Wanda Studios, a subsidiary of the Wanda Group, one of China’s largest property companies. Before that, Mr. Tan worked for nine years in various management positions at Reed Exhibitions, one of the world’s biggest international organizers of trade shows, exhibitions and congresses.

In addition to Munich, Shanghai is also the only location where Messe München operates another exhibition center together with two German event organizers and the Shanghai Lujiazui Exhibition Development Co., Ltd.: the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).

Messe München purchases CTT

Messe München is buying CTT EXPO in Moscow, the world’s fifth largest construction machinery trade fair. This acquisition is both the biggest and most important purchase in Messe München's history. Due to the pandemic, The smarter E Europe and its four concurrent energy exhibitions Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe will no longer take place from July 21–23, 2021. Instead, The smarter E Europe Restart 2021 will be staged at Messe München from October 6–8. The smarter E Industry Days, including the award ceremony for The smarter E AWARD, Intersolar AWARD and ees AWARD 2021, will be held online from July 21–23, 2021 when the in-person event should have taken place. Postponement of The smarter E Europe 2021

The smarter E Europe with its four exhibitions Intersolar Europe, ees Europe, Power2Drive Europe and EM-Power Europe will be moved back by six weeks to the second half of 2021. The innovation hub for the new energy world will now take place from July 21–23, 2021, at Messe München.
