IDS 2021 invites visitors to discover current classics with future potential

Announcements of disruptive technologies continue to dominate the headlines. However, at the same time there are stable constants - trusted materials and methods over decades, which still impress us and show the way forward. We are highlighting four examples of such below that are representative of many others: a colour measurement system, an alloy and an occlusion tester.

A particular highlight is the address to be given by the Minister President of Bavaria. Further, a line-up of well-known industry experts are set to impart their updates and knowledge on up and coming technologies; these will be complemented by discussions and roundtables. From 24–26 November 2020 representatives from the automation industry can take part in an exciting and packed three days and make use of the platform following the event.

EuroBLECH 2021 postponed: 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition will take place from 25 – 28 October 2022 in Hanover

Mack Brooks Exhibitions has today announced the postponement of EuroBLECH, which was scheduled to take place at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds in Germany from 9 to 12 March 2021. The next EuroBLECH, 26th International Sheet Metal Working Technology Exhibition, will return to its normal event cycle and run from 25 – 28 October 2022. This decision was taken in light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and following conversations with all exhibitors and partners that have taken place over the past weeks and months. Uncertainties around continued travel restrictions were also a contributing factor to this decision due to the truly international character of the EuroBLECH show.

No GrindTec in 2020

Until the very end, GrindTec organiser AFAG Messen und Ausstellungen was in productive talks with the City of Augsburg in order to examine the effects of the new infection protection regulation on the implementation of GrindTec 2020. In Bavaria, additional corona restrictions will apply in the future from an incidence value of 100. Among other things, events with more than 50 participants, and thus also trade fairs, will then be prohibited. In the city of Augsburg, this incidence value has already been significantly exceeded for days. As a consequence, GrindTec is not feasible according to the current state of affairs, and according to the expert assessment of the authorities it is a mathematical impossibility that this situation will change by the time GrindTec is carried out. The trade fair organiser AFAG has formally applied for an exemption permit for this special trade fair, and this application was rejected. For these reasons, it is now clear that GrindTec 2020 is in fact impossible and prohibited.

Prospects for the sector: GrindTec 2020 starts on 10 November

On 10 November 2020, GrindTec 2020, the leading industry forum for grinding technology, will start at the Augsburg Trade Fair Centre. As one of the first capital goods trade fairs after the lockdown in March, it is in the focus of the industry and the entire trade fair industry in Germany. As an international specialist trade fair for grinding technology, it brings together supply and demand almost congruently.

BrauBeviale 2020 Special Edition to take place exclusively in digital form

Following extensive discussions and critical observation of the current situation, NürnbergMesse, in close cooperation with customers and partners, has decided not to hold the physical BrauBeviale 2020 Special Edition trade fair as planned and to move the program exclusively to the digital world. The reasons for this are the current national and global developments of the corona pandemic, the rapidly increasing number of infections, and the associated massive restrictions on business travel in companies. Exhibitors and visitors will be able to meet virtually all year round on the digital dialog platform myBeviale.com, where the extensive supporting program BrauBeviale@stage will be online from 10 – 12 November 2020. The next BrauBeviale will take place again in 2022 at Messe Nuremberg.
