Dornscheidt, President & CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, says: “In close consultation with the ‘Caravaning Industrie Verband’, major exhibitors and many other partners, we have succeeded in agreeing on these new dates. We are happy to help all parties involved reliably planwith this joint decision. Needless to say, we are also in close contact with the hospitality sector and all other industries and trades affected by the re-scheduling with a view to coming up with viable solutions”.
The decision is based on the most current information availableand maybe adapted due to the dynamics and unpredictability of the corona pandemic and the measures taken by the federal and state governments to combat it.Dornscheidt goes on to say: “The safety and health of our visitors, exhibitors and employees will, of course, also be our highest priority at the upcoming event. Appropriate precautions are being developed and taken in partnership with the CIVD.
The Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre continues to be characterised by a high degree of hygiene as well as good medical care. We are closely monitoring current developments and are in direct contactwith the authorities for that matter. This ensures that any new findings are exchanged quickly and measures can be adapted.” Messe Düsseldorf is also examining concept adaptations in order to be able to implement the necessary security measures for holding a leisure fair with public access.
The association ‘Caravaning Industrie Verband’ welcomes the postponement of the trade fair and stresses its pivotal role as a platform for the entire industry: “CARAVAN SALON is not only the world`s largest public trade fair for leisure vehicles and accessories, but also the mostimportant B2B event for the caravanning industry. Our form of holiday has enjoyed enormous popularity for years, which, as we are currently finding out, has become even more firmly established, especially in these times. It is therefore all the more important to offer all exhibitors an outstanding presentation platform for their innovations, products and services at CARAVAN SALON”, saysDaniel Onggowinarso, Managing Director of ‘Caravaning Industrie Verband’.

CARAVAN SALON Düsseldorf rescheduled: 5 – 13 September 2020
The effects of Coronavirus Covid-19 and the joint decision taken by the German Governmentand the German states to prohibit major events until 31August 2020 as a matter of principle, also have an impact on CARAVAN SALON 2020, which was scheduled to start on 28 August. Messe Düsseldorf, together with the Caravaning Industrie Verband(CIVD), hasdecided to postpone the start of the fair by one week.The Press and Trade Visitor Day will thus take place on 4 September. CARAVAN SALON will open its doors to the public from 5 to 13 September.

CARAVAN SALON: Exhibitors announce over 200 new products in the run-up to the trade fair
Be it a German premiere or even a global first – CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF will also rise to its reputation as a launch-pad trade fair for caravans and motorhomes in 2020. In excess of 350 exhibitors will be showcasing a host of innovations in ten halls from 4 to 13 September. The focus here will be on the new recreational vehicles for the model year 2021. Already in the run-up to the trade fair numerous renowned exhibitors have announced their new products. Experience from previous years shows that many other highlights will only be unveiled at the beginning of the trade fair.
