Once again international exhibitors are presenting the complete range covering the planning, construction and maintenance of gardens, parks and green spaces at the GaLaBau.
The colour green will once again dominate the exhibition centre Nuremberg from 14 to 17 September 2016. Then GaLaBau, International Trade Fair for Urban Green and Open Spaces, will already be opening its doors for the 22nd time.

More exhibitors expected

Once again international exhibitors are presenting the complete range covering the planning, construction and maintenance of gardens, parks and green spaces. And: the number of currently registered companies is much higher compared to the same period two years ago. Here the increased publicity for the fair in the other European countries is also playing an important role. In 2016, around 1,400 exhibitors as well as over 67,000 trade visitors are expected. The honorary sponsor is the Bundesverband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau (BGL, Federal Association of Horticulture, Landscaping and Sports Facilities). Stefan Dittrich, Director Exhibitions GaLaBau, is delighted with the positive start for the next GaLaBau: “The companies from the plants and plant parts section along with the construction and maintenance machinery manufacturers have this time secured their places at GaLaBau very early. The same applies for international exhibitors. GaLaBau is the meeting place for Europe's green sector.”

Good industry environment

The European gardening, horticulture and landscaping industry is doing well. According to the European Landscape Contractors Association (ELCA), in Europe there are currently approximately 89,600 horticulture/landscape gardening companies. In the past few years this number has risen by 20%. In total, around 395,000 people are employed in the green industry and generate annual turnover of around 30 billion Euro.

International structure

According to Stefan Dittrich, Director Exhibitions GaLaBau, NürnbergMesse’s endeavours aimed at internationalizing GaLaBau even further are bearing the first fruit. “In autumn 2015, we visited Great Britain, France and Italy together with our partner, the BGL, with the aim of convincing more international exhibitors to participate at the fair. The discussions and meetings between NürnbergMesse, the BGL as well as with the regular and first-time exhibitors who were present, went very promisingly.” Within the framework of the dates abroad, the GaLaBau Team and BGL presented not only the fair however, but also provided international companies with valuable information on the German and European horticulture/landscape gardening market. The measures directed at internationalization will be further continued.
