Rohrbach reports to Oliver Frese, member of the Deutsche Messe Managing Board. She is responsible for the full range of corporate services for all trade fairs produced by Deutsche Messe at its Hannover location, making her and her business division the first port of call for all customer affairs involving services. The marketing of services at Deutsche Messe was formerly distributed across several different teams within the company group. In creating the new Services business division, the group is aiming to be even more customer-centric, consolidating virtually everything service-related into a single, centralized unit.
"Katariina Rohrbach is an experienced exhibition manager who has learned her trade from the ground up. She has been with us at Deutsche Messe since 1993 and has demonstrated her competence in a wide variety of functions within the group," commented Frese. He continued: "We relied on Ms. Rohrbach’s exhibition and project expertise in creating and setting up the new Services business division, so it was only logical we should put her in charge of the unit once established."
Background
After attending college and accumulating initial overseas experience in the United States, Rohrbach came to Deutsche Messe in 1993, where she completed her parallel studies in business administration with the focus on the exhibition industry. Beginning in 1996, she was given several different assignments within the company group in Germany and Singapore, soon being entrusted with managerial duties as well. Most recently – starting in 2009 – she was in charge of the sales department within the business division for international trade fairs, which is responsible for staging proprietary events like LIGNA and didacta as well as for supporting hosted events like IAA Commercial Vehicles, EuroBLECH, AGRITECHNICA and EuroTier. Katariina Rohrbach speaks Finnish as her second native language.
