Now they are partners: Medtec Europe and VDMA. The latter will support and consult the exhibition management in the conception, organisation and performance of the Medtec Europe (from 12. to 14. April 2016 in Stuttgart). The VDMA (German Engineering Federation) is the largest industry association in Europe with over 3,100 members ranging from small to medium firms offering high precision engineering, measuring and testing technology, precision tools, machine tools and manufacturing systems and much more in between. They have branch offices in Berlin and Brussels as well as liaison offices in Brazil, China, India, Japan and Russia and work to represent the shared economic, technical and scientific interests of their members, especially with respect to national and international authorities and business groups.
Commenting on their partnership with Medtec Europe, Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Managing Director of VDMA Working Group Medical Technology, said: “We feel that Stuttgart’s location in the heart of Baden Württemberg and its close links to Bavaria’s other industrial hubs make it the perfect place to establish the trade show the German medical device industry needs and deserves. New Innovation Lab
At the medtec Europe 2016, the new Innovation Lab will be put into focus: Looking at some of the most exciting areas of technical development not just in the field of medical technology but also in advanced manufacturing, the lab represents a kind of presentation that will give R&D professionals, Design Engineers and those with a technical background to learn about the latest in Additive Manufacturing, Miniaturisation, Personalised Medical Devices, Biologisation and Molecular Diagnostics and how to apply them to their projects.

MedtecLIVE: joint venture confirmed by German Federal Cartel Office
The exhibition organisers UBM and NürnbergMesse received formal approval from the German Federal Cartel Office for their proposed joint venture and will now move forward with the launch of a new medical technology exhibition, MedtecLIVE.
