Panel discussion with thought leaders

Highlight is a panel discussion on Capitol Hill for staffers, media, and the industry. Among those addressing the gathering are thought leaders from government and industry, including startups and major manufacturers, for example: Ian Yarnold, who leads the International Vehicle Standards Division of the United Kingdom's Department for Transport, regulatory officials from Italian, Japanese and French governments, Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association and Matthew Eggers, executive director for cybersecurity policy in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's National Security and Emergency Preparedness Department.

Sneak Peek Reception for government officials

MobilityTalks International will be followed by Public Policy Preview Day at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, a daylong schedule of press conferences and special programs to preview the 2017 Washington Auto Show. On Thursday, Jan. 26, the program opens with the annual Newsmaker Breakfast sponsored by the International Motor Press Association (IMPA) and the Washington Automotive Press Association (WAPA) and will feature a keynote by an industry leader. The day also includes the SAE Plenary Session at 3 p.m. and, at 5-8 p.m., the Sneak Peek Reception, a major networking event for officials in government, industry and media to preview the auto show before it opens to the public.

Known as the "public policy show" on the auto industry circuit, The Washington Auto Show convenes leaders in industry and government to tackle the most pressing issues facing the automotive sector over the course of its Public Policy Preview Days. The largest consumer show in D.C., The Washington Auto Show will open to the public from Friday, Jan. 27 through Sunday, Feb. 5.
