The conference will be the opening event of the 17th “E-world energy & water 2017”, Europe’s most successful specialist energy trade fair. It is expected that 1,000 people will attend. This year a special feature has been added: The conference is serving as a platform and specialist prelude to the interim presentation of KlimaExpo.NRW, which was launched by the state government to highlight the technological and economic potential of North Rhine-Westphalia in the field of climate protection. The plenary session of the conference in the morning will focus on the subject of “Climate Protection in NRW”.

Parallel specialists forums

In the afternoon starting at 2 p.m. there will again be five parallel specialist forums. The principal concerns here are the multi-sector transformation of the energy system, the opportunities and risks of expanding the heat grid and the future prospects for the utilisation of wind energy. Further topics are: energy efficiency in the energy turnaround and photovoltaics as a key technology for energy generation in the urban situation.

Meeting point for international energy industry

From 7 to 9 February 2017 “E-world energy & water” will for the 17th time be the meeting point for the international energy industry. EnergyAgency.NRW is exhibiting at this leading European trade fair of the energy and water resources industry. On the stand of the North Rhine-Westphalian Climate Protection and Environment Ministry in Hall 3, Stand No. 370, the EnergyAgency.NRW will join with the clusters EnergyRegion.NRW and EnergyResearch.NRW to present their portfolio.

Climate Protection – Made in NRW

Under the heading “Climate Protection – Made in NRW” there will also be around 20 companies and research institutions displaying key technologies for the energy turnaround (Energiewende) and climate protection. In addition KlimaExpo.NRW is organising as part of the trade fair an exhibition of the qualified and outstanding KlimaExpo.NRW projects. In the Galeria of Messe Essen pioneering projects of the climate protection region of NRW will be presented over an area of more than 1,000 square metres. To round off the exhibition there will be a forum with expert talks and discussion sessions. Furthermore KlimaExpo.NRW will be offering interested visitors excursions to enable them to view the projects on the spot. The North Rhine-Westphalian Evening with live music will provide a chance to wind down in entertaining surroundings from 6 p.m. on the evening of 7 February.
