Exhibitors are eager to present their latest innovative solutions and products at SIAF Guangzhou.
The three-day show is scheduled to take place from 1-3 March, 2017 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou, China. Continuing its success from the 2016 edition, the upcoming show aims to help industry players unlock greater business opportunities within various sectors of the industrial automation industry. Commenting on the upcoming show, Mr Louis Leung, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, said: “Since the introduction of Made in China 2025, China’s version of Industry 4.0, the manufacturing industry has been undergoing rapid change. This in turn creates ample opportunities for smart industrial automation products and solutions providers in China and beyond. The 2017 edition expects to attract over 500 exhibitors and more than 50,000 professional visitors to conduct trade across 40,000 sqm of exhibition space. China’s rapidly developing economy and fast-growing manufacturing industry are creating huge demand for smarter and advanced industrial automation technologies, and the fair’s significance has never been greater. I am optimistic about the show’s growth and its contribution to the development of the industry as a whole.”

400 brands from across the world

Recognising the importance of and growth prospects in China’s markets, exhibitors are eager to present their latest innovative solutions and products to both international and domestic professionals. To date, the 2017 show has attracted over 400 reputable industrial automation brands from across the world. Several leading companies confirmed for the upcoming and well-known international and domestic industry brands participating for the first time.

Help for entering China’s manufacturing market

The show is a unique platform that helps professionals enter China’s sophisticated manufacturing market and also accommodates growing demand within the industrial automation industry. Occupying four halls, the fair will dedicate Hall 2.1 to robotics and machine vision. Halls 3.1 and 4.1 will contain IPCs, industrial and communication software, automated production and processing solutions, as well as electrical and mechanical systems. Finally, Hall 5.1 will be dedicated to sensors and measurement technologies from prominent industry leaders.

Interesting concurrent events

Concurrent events have played a significant role in the development of SPS – Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou. Each year, the show’s organisers gather some of the sectors’ leading players from business and academia to share their views on current industry developments and future trends. The 2017 edition will again gather a number of influential speakers from China and abroad to present their latest findings. The concurrent programme will cover an array of updates on topics including industrial IoT and other cyber world technologies such as Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025, robotics and machine vision, drive systems, robotics, and sensors, measurement technologies and more.

Aggressive national policies and manufacturing goals bolster growth in China’s automation industry

According to the Chinese government’s latest five-year development plan, the country plans to triple its annual production of domestically made robots used in manufacturing to 100,000 units by 2020. Moreover, China’s latest five-year plan will make billions of Chinese yuan available to manufacturers to incentivise them to upgrade their technologies to advanced machinery and robots. Government officials of Guangdong Province predicted that by 2017, there will be 50 robots for every 10,000 workers and the robot and other related industries as well as the intelligent equipment industry will be worth over USD 9 billion and USD 45 billion, respectively.

China’s image sensors market is also another promising sector. It is expected to increase to USD 1.42 billion by 2018 and grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9.8% from 2014 to 2020. China is the world's largest automotive manufacturer and a leading producer of consumer electronics. A swelling consumer base for smartphones, tablets and consumer electronics, coupled with stricter safety regulations and adoption of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), are driving the lucrative growth of China’s image sensors market.
