9 August 2016Electric and Power Vietnam
Electric and Power Vietnam 2016, the 6th International Power Engineering (Generation, Transmission and Distribution) Technology Exhibition, will return to Ho Chi Minh City.
From 14 – 16 September 2016 alongside Industrial Automation Vietnam, the trade exhibition is offering factory and process automation technology solutions for industrial production and manufacturing. A strong spread of enabling technologies and service providers will feature for power engineering, plus factory and process automation.
Electric power plays a critical role in our society on all levels. It advances the nation’s industrial competitiveness and improves the general quality of living. It is an industry sector that contributes to the progress and prosperity of the nation. Over the past few years, Vietnam has needed to grow its power supply significantly in support of an expanding industrial economy – one of the fastest growing in Asia and in the world. Vietnam’s electricity demand has grown at a rapid pace, surpassing the GDP growth rate over the same period. According to Vietnam’s General Department of Energy, electricity demand is expected to increase by 10-12 percent annually in the near future. Electricity output in 2015 is 194-210 billion kWh rate and is anticipated to rise to 330-362 billion kWh in 2020, and 695-834 billion kWh in 2030.
To satisfy national demands for power and energy security, Vietnam has to improve the grid transmission capacity, power quality and supply capacity. The total net investment of the power sector from 2016 - 2020 is 305.331 billion, of which Vietnam Electricity (EVN) will be investing 255.822 billion with private sector contributing 49.809 billion. The government has also intensified the implementation of many investment projects in thermal power – new coal fired power plants, gas fired and combined cycle plants, and which may also include the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Southeast Asia and the first offshore wind power complex in Asia.
Implementation of new, cleaner technologies to Vietnam’s power industry
Electric and Power Vietnam (EPV), the country’s premier electrical, power and process engineering trade event returns at the appropriate timing, positioning itself as the resource hub for this industry. The 6th edition is shaping up with the showcase of a wide range of power engineering solutions and technologies - electrical control and distribution systems, backup power generation, manufacturing and process automation, SCADA, transmission and distribution, wireless security, instrumentation and control, power station hardware and equipment, renewable energy and other related equipment to name a few.
Companies from all over the world
To date, close to 200 companies from Germany, Korea, India, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam have already confirmed their participation. This year’s show is also expecting a large international presence of key technology associations and group pavilions. Visitor ship is anticipated to reach 4.500 trade visitors coming from major power companies and industrial production and manufacturing facilities across the nation.
A fruitful cooperation
Industrial Automation Vietnam 2016, the International Factory, Plant Automation and Process Control Technology Exhibition, will be taken place simultaneously alongside Electric and Power Vietnam 2016. The co-located trade event positions itself as sourcing center for factory and process automation equipment and software needed to effectively run the modern day factory and processing plant.
