Window and facade manufacturers, carpenters, architects and retailers visit the fair to find out about the latest profile systems, hardware, structural elements, the use of glass in architecture, fixing technology, security technology, machines and equipment and much more. Apart from the exhibition as such, Fensterbau Frontale also offers an exciting supporting programme. The trade fair will be officially opened by Günther Hoffmann, Head of the Department for the Construction Industry and Federal Buildings at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Reactor Safety. A popular and long-established element of the programme is the special show by window technology testing institute ift Rosenheim, the GFF (Glass, Window and Facade Association) and NürnbergMesse, which will take place this year at stand 1-415/515 in Hall 1 with the theme “Success through Safety, Quality and Security”.
“Golden Window” Award and “India Day” to make their debuts
A new feature of the program is the “Golden Window” award. Since 2012, Russian specialist publisher OKNA Media has been awarding this prize to the 20 leading window manufacturing companies in Russia for excellence in customer advisory services. In the meantime it has become one of the most sought-after accolades in the country. The aim of the “Golden Window” is to create healthy competition to stress the high importance of the customer advice component in the sales chain.
Another new addition is India Day, where interested trade visitors and exhibitors can learn more about the opportunities offered by the Indian window and door market.
Special programme for architects and building designers
As at previous events, the 8thArchitecture-Window-FacadeForum on the morning of the second day of the fair offers an exceptional program of information and presentations exclusively for architects. This year the forum on the theme “Striving for Simplicity in Architecture and Technology” will be devoted to current trends in architecture and technology. High-calibre speakers will explore the themes of the trade fair in an overarching context.
The magazines AIT and xia Intelligente Architektur will once again be presenting their Innovation Award for Architecture + Window Door Facade to exhibitors at Fensterbau Frontale. The prize-winners will be selected by a panel of renowned architects, interior designers and engineers. The jury tours the fair to visit the competing exhibitors at their stands to allow them to explain the most innovative aspects of their products. The submissions are also presented as a poster exhibition in NCC Ost, Stand NCCO-109.
Master Craftsman Award 2016
The last day of the fair is all about the next generation of skilled workers in the glass, window and facade sector. The Glass, Window and Facade Association of Baden-Württemberg presents the “MeisterAward” (master craftsman award) to the best young talent of the last two years. It recognises excellent performance in their theoretical and practical examinations when completing their advanced training to qualify as master glaziers at the Technical College for Glass, Window and Facade Construction in Karlsruhe. The award consists of various prizes to a total value of almost €10,000. Another prize is awarded to the nationwide winner of the Young Craftspeople competition in window and glass facade construction, i.e. the best apprentice from the class of 2015.
