••• 10••• Messewelten Controlling crane systems via a tablet New special display area “Cranes & Lifting Equipment Pavilion” at CeMAT 2016 A t CeMAT’s newly designed special display area “Cranes & Lifting Equipment Pavilion” the manufacturers of cranes and crane systems will be showcasing their latest products. The inter- national trade show for intralo- gistics and supply chain manage- ment is staged every two years and is next due to be held from 31 May to 3 June 2016. Intelligent systems solutions are in demand: Controlling crane sys- tems via a tablet or other smart gadgets, collecting and analysing process data – these things will be standard practice in the industry before long. High investment costs “To get the full benefit of the new technology, our businesses will have to master many challenges,” says Wilfried Neuhaus-Galladé, managing member of the VDMA’s Association for Materials Handling and Intralogistics. “For many com- panies, the main hurdles are high investment costs and a not very clear idea of the benefits that will result.” Absence of definitive technical standards IT security concerns are still de- terring many decision-makers, as is the absence of definitive techni- cal standards. But he insists that the crane industry must, and will, meet this challenge. Beyond that, he is sure that customer-specific solutions will figure more promi- nently in the future – both in terms of the engineering and the complexity of the systems. And that means more extensive documentation as well. The more complex the system, the more important the quality of the af- ter-sales service provided by the manufacturer in order to ensure trouble-free production under 24/7 operating conditions. The special display area “Cranes & Lift- ing Equipment Pavilion” will take place in Hall 27. “We’ve provided an excellent platform here for the industry to present their achieve- ments in a dynamic environment. Manufacturers of cranes and lifting equipment will be dem- onstrating their own strengths, and showing visitors how their products can be integrated into tomorrow’s fully networked and automated logistics chains,” says Wolfgang Pech, Senior Vice-Presi- dent at Deutsche Messe. Photo: Deutsche Messe Noch einfachere Logistik-Steuerung Die transport logistic rückt neue smarte Technologien in den Vordergrund Cloud Computing, mobile De- vices, Schnittstellen, intelligen- tes Tracking and Tracing, Netz- werkplanung, Big Data, WMS, Bildverarbeitung und Virtualisie- rung stehen im Mittelpunkt der transport logistic, die vom 9. bis 12. Mai in München stattfindet. In diesem Jahr liegt der Ausstel- lungsbereich für die transport logistic@CeMAT im Norden der Halle 27, in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bereich Logistics IT, der mit erweiterter Fläche und eigenem Forum einer der Ankerpunkte in der Halle sein wird. Themen wie Cloud Computing oder Big Data betreffen nicht nur die Welt der Intralogistik, sondern auch alle Logistikdienstleister, denen sich durch neue Technologien völlig neue Möglichkeiten eröffnen. Dank Big Data sind heute zum Beispiel aktuelle und vollstän- dige Informationen über Fahr- zeuge, Sendungen und Liefer- aufträge jederzeit und überall verfügbar. Foto: Messe München Neuer Besucherrekord in Berlin: Über 70 000 Fach- besucher aus mehr als 130 Ländern zählten die Ver- anstalter der Fruit Logistica in diesem Jahr. 2 891 Aussteller aus 84 Ländern zeigten eine komplette Marktübersicht der Frischfruchtbranche, allein 27 Weltpremieren wurden vorgestellt. Erstmals wurden in der neuen Veranstaltungsreihe „Logistics Hub“, zehn aktuelle Themen aus der Logistik-Kette präsen- tiert und diskutiert. Die wachsende Bedeutung des Themas Logistik sei durch die gut besuchten Foren und das positive Feedback der Fachbesucher un- terstrichen worden, hieß es in Berlin. Produzenten, Exporteure und Händler erhielten im Logistics Hub Informationen, die ihnen helfen sollen, die richtige lo- gistische Entscheidung für den Transport ihrer Ware zu treffen.
