Just what strategies companies need to adopt to at- tract the right people is therefore top issue at transport logistic. Transport and logistics companies are finding it ever more difficult to find suitably qualified employ- ees. This was one of the findings in a recent market commentary by the German Federal Office for Goods Transport (BAG) on work- ing conditions in goods transport and logistics in 2016. Demand for staff in the forwarding and CEP segments is currently very high, the report says. But many firms are also experiencing difficulties in attracting truck drivers, IT spe- cialists and managers. All the fore- casts point to a further exacerba- tion of this problem in the coming years. Digitalization is bringing an- other big unknown into the equa- tion: which jobs will disappear, and what new ones will emerge? Thus, the right strategies are needed to cope with these chal- lenges and ensure competitive- ness – for transport and logistics companies, but also for Germany as a location for this industry. The last day of the fair is again dedicated to the changing picture of jobs and careers in transport and logistics. Messe München and the logistics jobs portal Birdie- Match are organizing Job-Match- ing live, which brings together exhibitors and job-seekers. The matchmaking will take a “speed dating” format: ten-minute talks with potential candidates. What effect is the digital shift having? What skills do the opera- tives and managers of tomorrow need for a successful career in the transport and logistics sec- tor? High-ranking representatives from business, logistics services and education will be discussing these questions. They will be ex- plaining which specialist skills and personal qualities the industry ex- pects, and pointing out which ed- ucation and training courses can be helpful. A panel discussion on “The Next Generation of Logistics Professionals” will take place on 12 May, between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m. in Forum III in Hall B2. Insight into career prospects are an integral part of transport logistic. Photo: Messe München Messehighlight Besuchen Sie uns auf der transport logisitc, Halle A6 · Stand 209 G.
