Nevertheless, orders incoming increased by five per cent during the same period. The sensor branch expects an upsurge during the third quarter of seven per cent. Other parameters confirm the overall positive devel- opment in sensors and measurement. The members of the AMA Association for Sensors and Measure- ment recorded a rise of five per cent in orders incom- ing for the second quarter compared with the results of the previous quarter. This reinforces the expecta- tions in the sector, projecting an upsurge of seven per cent for the current third quarter. “The sensor and measurement sector is doing very well. Such oscillations from one quarter to the next are not unusual. And that’s why this sector expects that the long-term trend of 6.5 per cent growth per year will continue,” said AMA general manager Dr C. Thomas Simmons, commenting on the current results. “Digi- talization and automation are the topics in industry. Technical systems have to interact more and more with their environments. The solutions are based on innovative developments in sensor, measuring, and testing technology. Ist die elektromagnetische Verträg- lichkeit eines Gerätes gestört, beeinflusst es andere Geräte oder Anlagen und verursacht un- zulässige Netzrückwirkungen“, sagt Wolfgang Niedziella, Chef des VDE-Instituts. „Kurzum: Die digitale Transformation in Ge- sellschaft und Industrie ist ohne funktionierende und störfeste Funkkommunikation – und das auf allen Frequenzbereichen – nicht möglich.“ Das VDE-Institut verfügt bereits über mehrere EMV-Hallen, darunter eine große Zehn-Meter-Absorber-Halle. „Al- lerdings sind alle Prüfräume seit Langem voll ausgelastet. Durch den Neubau erhöht sich unsere Kapazität deutlich und wir kön- nen die verstärkte Nachfrage der Industrie bedienen. Zudem benötigen unsere Kunden zuneh- mend sehr kurzfristig eine Über- sichtsmessung im Rahmen ihres Entwicklungsprozesses“, sagte Niedziella. Mit der neuen Prüfhal- le könne das unabhängige Insti- tut diesen Service jetzt verstärkt anbieten, da die Messung dank modernster Messtechnik deut- lich schneller erfolgt. Die Vollab- sorber-Halle ist dem VDE-Institut zufolge mit der aktuell leistungs- stärksten Messtechnik ausgerüs- tet, die für dieses Prüfsegment auf dem Markt erhältlich ist.
