••• 7 ••• Messewelten Premiere für Sondershow 3D-Druck Wie die Automobilbranche oder die Luft- und Raumfahrttechnik kommt auch die maritime Wirtschaft nicht am Thema additive Fertigung / 3D-Druck vorbei. Die SMM ist hier nah am Puls der Zeit: Zum ersten Mal findet auf der maritimen Weltleitmesse eine Sonder- schau zum 3D-Druck statt. Auf der „Maritime 3D Printing Show Area@SMM“ präsentieren sich in der Halle B6 Aussteller zum Thema 3D- Druck. Besucher können dort mit Fach- leuten diskutieren – und die additiven Produktionsverfahren mit unterschied- lichen Materialien live bewundern, teilt der Veranstalter mit. Das Besondere beim 3D-Druck: „Die Bauteile werden nicht mehr geomet- risch gestaltet durch Gießen, Bohren oder Fräsen, sondern additiv – also schichtweise – aufgebaut“, erklärt Professor Claus Emmelmann, Leiter des Fraunhofer-Instituts für Additive Produktionstechnologien (IAPT). Das sieht nicht nur spektakulär aus – „es erlaubt auch Konstruktionen mit einer beliebigen, bisher noch nicht vorstell- baren Komplexität“, so Emmelmann. Gewichtsreduktionen von bis zu 80 Pro- zent sind möglich. Im starken Wettbe- werb stehende Unternehmen können Bau- und Materialkosten einsparen und die Bauzeit von Komponenten drastisch verkürzen, heißt es. In response to strong market de- mand, this SMM will for the first time provide a significant amount of space to interior equipment and furnishings for ferries and cruise ships. In addition, a “Cruise Route” will be added to the 2018 SMM list of theme-based fair itin- eraries helping visitors find ex- hibitors of specific interest. With more than 2,200 exhibitors from 69 countries, including major players participating for the first time, the fair halls’ 90,000 square metres of exhibition space were fully booked months in advance, the organiser stated. Moreover, the number of national pavilions has increased again, with Panama, Estonia and Columbia each repre- sented by a dedicated pavilion. Furthermore, JSEA – the Japa- nese shipyard association, has re- quested 50 per cent more exhibi- tion space.
