Messewelten ••• 7 ••• Protection measures are crucial Explosion demonstrations at Solids Dortmund – German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress A t the eight edition of Solids in Dortmund, the visitors can look forward to exciting explo- sion demonstrations in the con- text of the third German Fire and Explosion Protection Congress, with which the IND EX e. V. pro- motes the importance of protec- tion measures. The congress is aimed at experts from the area of fire and explo- sion protection. Interested per- sons can partake in lectures given by experts with decades of expe- rience in the field of industrial ex- plosion protection. Inspirational and technical lectures, as well as case studies and the latest labo- ratory results from research pro- jects provide information and discussion material around the im- portant issue of fire and explosion prevention and protection. Modular design With its modular design and the extensive show programme, Sol- ids Dortmund has developed into one of the most important trade shows for granulates, powders and bulk solids technologies. The congress is complemented by an extensive show programme, which features 100 lectures taking place on five stages, guided tours around the exhibition. One of the most popular aspects of the show programme are the Guided Tours, appreciated by both visitors and exhibitors alike. In groups of no more than 20 persons, visitors are taken to targeted stands to see highlights specific to their expressed interest, where exhibi- tors host them exclusively for up to ten minutes. Guided Tours Guided Tours will take place on both 10 & 11 May at the eighth edi- tion of Solids in Dortmund. This exhibition covers the entire pro- cess engineering value chain and showcases technologies for the processing, handling, storage and transport of bulk granules, pow- ders and solid goods. The tour groups will focus on highlights of dosing, filtering, mixing and conveyance technologies as well as trends in the areas of separat- ing, sorting and crushing tech- nologies. With 100 lectures tak- ing place on five open stages, the InnovationCenter greatly adds to the event’s attractions. In short talks and panel discussions, in- dustry experts will present their latest projects, case studies, in- novations and experiments from the fields of bulk goods handling and multi-modal transport of sol- ids. The topics and contributions themselves are selected before- hand by an independent jury of experts, ensuring good balance and thematic relevance. The show explores all aspects of the equip- ment and process technologies required for bulk solids. With explosion demonstrations, IND EX e. V. promotes the importance of protection measures. Headed “Waste and Resource Management”, the presenta- tion of the innovative research of the DGAW Science Congress 2017 is just one example of the many activi- ties that await visitors and exhibitors. In cooperation with Enterprise Europe Network, WFZruhr, and an industry partner, the first International Cooperation Exchange will also take place during this year’s show.
