••• 7 ••• Messewelten VDMA Circular Economy Forum at K Specialists discuss “Design for Recycling” and benets of plastic products P lastics are valuable – also as waste! In the plastics industry the concept of the circular econ- omy is discussed as a promising path into the future. But what does circularity for plastics actual- ly mean? Which steps are decisive? Who are the partners involved? At the VDMA Circular Economy Fo- rum at K 2019, The World’s No. 1 Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber, the VDMA will discuss “Design for Recycling” or the prerequisites for good plastics recycling with its guests. At the VDMA pavilion specifically set up for the Circular Economy Forum right in front of Hall 16 on the outdoor premises a closer look will be taken at the processing of recyclates and the correlations between markets, quantities and legal frameworks will be flagged up. Using packag- ing as an example the benefits of plastic products during their lifecycle will be made clear at the VDMA Pavilion, but the argu- ments speaking in favour of the “not pre-packed” model will also be discussed. Successful closed loops will be presented that have become established as a business model and students will be invited to the “Fridays for future”. En- compassing talks, presentations and workshops on the circular economy the programme gets to the heart of the matter. A gallery with over twenty exhibitors such as Arburg, Engel, Erema, Krauss- Maffei and Reifenhäuser but also such household names as Procter & Gamble round off the VDMA presence at K 2019. The programme features high- calibre and versatile speakers. The kick-off talk on 16 October alone promises exciting discussions and insights. Thomas Kyriakis, board member at Schwarz Zen- trale Dienste KG, responsible for the circular economy, among oth- er things and more. Hier werden zwei Neuheiten für die Profilextrusions-Nachfolge vorgestellt. Mit der PTT-200 steht eine Pro- filguillotine zur Verfügung, mit welcher sich auch anspruchsvolle Profilgeometrien sicher spanlos trennen lassen. Durch eine stu- fenlose Verstellung des Messer- schneidwinkels von ± 45° kann für jede Geometrie das Profil optimal getrennt werden. Diese Anpassung kann während der Produktion er- folgen. Weiterhin ist die Profilguil- lotine mit einer neuen Messerspan- nung für winkelgenaues Trennen ausgerüstet. Eine weitere Messeneuheit ist ei- ne automatische Trennvorrich- tung von Klebefolien in der Off- line-Kaschierung. Diese bietet die Möglichkeit, Profile auf Stoß zu kaschieren, ohne dass die Profile im Nachgang von Hand getrennt werden müssen. Diese Aufgabe übernimmt der Folienschneider FSP-D nach dem Kaschiervorgang automatisch. Da die zwei Schneid- einheiten in Arbeitsrichtung um 90° drehbar gelagert sind, können bestehende Profilorientierungen in der Kaschierung beibehalten werden. Auch für die Plattenextrusion bietet Stein Maschinenbau im Bereich der Nachfolgemaschinen ein umfassen- des Lieferprogramm an. Beginnend mit dem Glättwerk und Abzug, der Längs- und Quertrennung wie auch für das automatische Abstapeln erfolgen stets kundenspezifische Lösungen. Diese berücksichtigen sowohl die Anforderungen an das Produkt als auch örtliche Gegeben- heiten und betriebsinterne Abläufe.
