•••6••• Messewelten Booming market in Asia Asia Fruit Logistica to return on 4-6 September, 2019 T his year, Asian consumers are projected to demand more fresh and healthy options, and Asia’s premier trade show and information hub for the global fresh fruit and vegetable busi- ness is back again to help the in- dustry deliver. Asia Fruit Logistica returns to Hong Kong on 4-6 Sep- tember, 2019. Asia Fruit Logistica is Asia’s pre- mier information hub, providing a comprehensive overview of the latest trends and technologies. In 2018, Asia Fruit Logistica attracted more than 13,000 industry pro- fessionals from over 70 different countries in 2018, solidifying its position as Asia’s premier conti- nental trade show for the fresh fruit and vegetable business. High- quality buyers from some 20 dif- ferent markets across Asia-Pacific attended the 2018 show, taking in a global range of products and services from 826 exhibiting com- panies representing 46 countries. The high calibre and wide reach of visitors contributed to strong busi- ness outcomes for exhibitors. According to a USDA Foreign Agri- culture Service Gain report, the 17 US exhibitors at Asia Fruit Logis- tica 2018 earned over US$7.39m in projected sales in the twelve months following the Septem- ber show. “Hong Kong is a lucra- tive destination for US exports of fruits and vegetables,” said the report. “The Hong Kong market also serves as a gateway for the flow of products to regional markets with strong logistical access to Asian-based buyers and mar- kets.” Demand for new, con- venient and wholesome fresh produce across Asia is booming, fuelled by rising income levels and a trend towards healthy liv- ing. A global grocery analyst iden- tified health and freshness as one of the top five trends to shape Asia’s grocery retail market in 2019. Consumption of imported produce in Asia is also on a steady upward trend. Over the five years to 2017, virtual- ly all key global supplying regions have recorded double-digit annual average percentage growth rates in the value of their fresh fruit ex- ports to Asia, according to analy- sis from a consulting company. The Middle East and North Africa has seen the highest annual aver- age increase at 29 per cent. Other standouts include Europe at 21 per cent, AustralAsia (17 per cent), South Africa (16 per cent), and Latin America (11 per cent). New hall concept for ProWein 2021 in Düsseldorf ProWein 2021 will mark the premiere of a revised hall concept and other notable new conveniences for ex- hibitors and visitors. After a period of improvements to Messe Düsseldorf’s exhibition grounds, the new South Entrance and adjoining Exhibition Hall 1 are slated to open in autumn 2019 and will make their Pro- Wein debuts at the fair to be held March 21–23, 2021. The trade fair will continue to be cultivated as a pure B2B platform and laid out in the tried-and true circu- lar hall concept. Visitors starting at Exhibition Hall 1 can move on to Halls 4, 5 and 7.0 and from there on to Halls 9 to 17. An initial peek at the new concept is available at the ProWein home page (http://www. prowein.com/2021E) . Craft Beer Italy promising a dual experience Craft Beer Italy is just around the corner: On 27-28 March, 2019, the second edition of the on- ly B2B event in Italy ex- clusively dedicated to craft beer production will provide visitors with a dual experience. The event will offer two es- sential tools to the craft beer sector operators: an exhibition on produc- tion, analysis, packaging and sales of craft beer on a 4,000 sqm gross area and a highly professional con- ference programme. The exhibition area will give visitors the chance to be informed on the latest de- velopments and get in touch with Italian and interna- tional companies, among the best in the sector, that you won’t meet anywhere else in Italy. The confer- ence is managed by the well-known institutes VLB Berlin and Doemens and represents a chance of tech- nical development and experience sharing thanks to the presence of prominent experts. Exclusively dedicated to craft beer production, Craft Beer Italy will be held on 27-29 March, 2019 in Milan.
