••• 13••• Messewelten Current interior design trends in focus The Stage: the international trend forum for architects, planners and designers in Hall 3.1 W ith “The Stage” in Hall 3.1, imm cologne provides ar- chitects, planners, designers and journalists with an information and networking platform that of- fers them an overview of current interior design trends. Alongside talks on trending top- ics in colours and materials, pres- entations on The Stage will also shine a light on the latest devel- opments in interior design. A wide spectrum of issues is on the agenda, ranging from sustainabil- ity, business and functionality to room concepts and individuali- sation, but also covering special- ised fields such as 3D printing or how to present an idea on online platforms. But The Stage is not just a central hub for trend in- formation for professionals and creative partners in the industry. The forum also has an exciting programme in store for the pub- lic days of the fair, when interior designers and design profession- als will give end consumers use- ful tips on interior decor. They will also talk about the power of wall decoration and offer advice on healthy sleep. Other topics will include how to turn bathrooms into wellness oases, the impact of colours and the effect of artificial light on our well-being. The lectures on the first days of the trends forum at the upcom- ing imm cologne are due to fea- ture a particularly international set of well-known speakers. They will talk about design, lighting, use of space and function in inte- rior design. Karl Johan Bertilsson (Sweden) will inform the audience about the latest colour trends, and Morten Skjærpe Knarrum (Norway) will take a look at Scan- dinavian design from the per- spective of his native country. Of course, the wide range of upcom- ing trends for the interiors indus- try will be a key point of discus- sion as usual. For example, Ursula Geismann will present the find- ings of the Association of the Ger- man Furniture Industry’s (VDM) study into home living, “Wohnen in Deutschland”.
