The Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA), in partnership with Hannover Fairs Canada, have unveiled the pro- gramme for the 35th Annual Can- WEA Conference and Exhibition, to be held from 8 to 10 October 2019, at the BMO Centre in Cal- gary (Alberta), Canada. Over three days, business execu- tives, technical experts, decision makers, and government repre- sentatives will highlight the key issues facing wind energy today and identify the innovative trends that will guide the future of clean energy growth. Plenary sessions will focus on the big picture of Canada’s evolving electricity system and growing wind energy industry; navigat- ing changing market and policy dynamics in Alberta; disruptive technologies and rapid innovation that are impacting Canada’s elec- tric utilities; and the role of wind energy in supporting grid reliabil- ity. Concurrent educational ses- sions will dig into a range of press- ing industry topics, including the possibilities for repowering pro- jects, boosting operational strat- egies, traditional knowledge and Indigenous partnerships, wind and solar hybrid projects, the evo- lution of wind project siting, new revenue streams and the global transition to clean technology. With more than 1,200 attendees representing a wide range of in- terests in wind energy, the con- ference tradeshow will provide exhibitors an opportunity to con- nect with North America’s fore- most wind energy leaders and decision makers. With the plenary sessions adjacent to the trade- show floor, it is the perfect venue for exhibitors to expand their net- work and generate leads, while earning recognition as a wind en- ergy market participant. Following on the heels of the impressive 2018 award winners, attendees can expect no less this year. Six prestigious Can- WEA awards will be presented to visionary leaders and clean energy pioneers for their out- standing contributions to the Canadian wind industry, while CanWEA partner Women in Re- newable Energy WiRE will present this year’s Wind Power Woman of Distinction Award. Off-grid industry meets for the first time in Augsburg Under the motto “Get rid of the grid!”, Messe Augs- burg organises for the first time the OFF-GRID Ex- perts Workshop for self-sufficient power supply with solar, wind and hydropower plants. The specialist event targets installers, dealers, planners, users and organisations and takes place from 19 to 21 Septem- ber 2019 at Messe Augsburg.
