Hannover Messe 2018

•••2••• Messewelten TheWho‘s who in robotics Lead theme “Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate” T he exhibitor list for Hannover Messe 2018 reads like a Who’s who of the robotics industry. Ro- botics companies, systems inte- grators and providers of gripper systems will be showcasing their Smart Factory solutions. The lead theme of this year’s show will be “Integrated Industry – Connect & Collaborate”. Their presence of all these robotics companies reflects the integral role of robots and automated guided vehicles in today’s modern manufacturing landscape. Vast range of Industry 4.0 solutions It is a landscape in which robot- ics and automation are constantly breaking new ground in human/ma- chine collaboration. What’s more, as these technologies mature and grow in diversity, they are becom- ing increasingly affordable for small and mid-size manufacturers. “The range of Industry 4.0 solu- tions coming out of the robotics industry at the moment is truly vast,” commented Arno Reich, Global Director Automation for Hannover Messe. “That is why the robotics and automation show- case is a major attraction for all visitors at Hannover Messe.” “All areas of the manufacturing industry are improving their pro- duction processes and outputs by integrating industrial robots, mobile robots, automated guided vehicle systems and industrial im- age processing solutions. The ap- plications of these technologies are growing all the time, thanks to innovations like touch-sensitive robotic technologies, pack-and- place solutions and barrier-free, collaborative robots,” he stresses. Park in Hall 17with live presentations In 2018, robot manufacturers, image processing specialists and systems integrators will again be showcasing the latest innovations and highlights at the Robotics, Automation & Vision Application Park in Hall 17. With its live pres- entations of mobile robotics solu- tions and automated systems, the Robotics, Automation & Vision Application Park pavilion is a per- ennial visitor magnet at the show. Robotics, automation and indus- trial image processing will also feature strongly at the Automa- tion Forum in Hall 14. The forum lectures will have a dual focus on R&D and in-factory applications, so there will be plenty of interest for visitors from all backgrounds. Robotics Award for applied solutions This year, the organizers of Han- nover Messe will again be offer- ing the Robotics Award for ap- plied robotics solutions. It will be the eighth time that the show has sponsored the award. Three con- testants have been selected as the final contestants for the Ro- botics Award 2018. The ultimate winner of this world-renowned prize will remain secret until the second day of Hannover Messe: the big moment will come at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, 24 April. Bernd Althusmann, Minister of Econom- ic Affairs, Employment, Transport and Digitalization for the Ger- man state of Lower Saxony, is serving as the official patron of the Robotics Award, which car- ries a prize purse of €10,000. The awards ceremony will take place at the Automation Forum in Hall 14. Companies and institutions from Germany and abroad were invited to submit their solutions, with the object consisting of products, projects or technologi- cal innovations which have made an innovative contribution to ro- bot-based solutions in the field of industrial automation, mobile ro- bots or autonomous systems. Robotics, Integrated Automation and Motion & Drives are main topics at Hannover Messe.
