C-star 2019 will once again feature a series of extensive and in-depth concurrent events: C-star Retail Forum - Dynamic Future of Retail Ecosystem; ReTailor Hub; THE GRID and the EuroShop Retail Design Award (ERDA). With the rise of new retail, shopping expe- rience become the most impor- tant factor for retailers. The tradi- tional shopping mall is undergoing the revolution from single buying to the establishment of retail eco- system. C-star always keeps an eye on market trends. In 2019, the C- star Retail Forum will be themed as “Dynamic Future of Retail Eco- system”, inviting retail brands, shopping center executives, re- search specialists and technology providers. in-store asia with new Tech Village The 12th edition of in-store asia, a 3-day-long event comprising Ex- po, Conference and Awards, will be held at Bombay Exhibition Center on 14-16 March, 2019. The event will include a new section called “Tech Village”, while great- er focus will be given to architec- tural materials and in-store tech. in-store asia will be featuring an Expo bringing all leading retail so- lution providers from India and beyond under one roof, Conven- tion discussing the moot topics of Indian retail industry and design, Awards recognizing talents in re- tail design and visual merchandis- ing. The last edition in 2018 wit- nessed the presence of 150+ exhibitors showcasing their prod- ucts and services to 7,579+ visitors and 240+ conference delegates. The floorplan and layout of the upcoming edition has already been announced: as added attrac- tions to the upcoming edition, the show will include a section called “Tech Village”, which will provide an access for start-up companies to the retail market in India. The greater focus will be given to at- tract companies into architectural materials and in-store tech. Hotspot for the new retail generation Following its debut last year, the Start-Up Hub at EuroCIS will have mo- re companies and also its own pro- gramme of talks. This makes it the hotspot for the new generation of re- tail technology, offering ideal oppor- tunities for young companies seeking initial contacts with international decision-makers in the retail trade. A start-up, for example, allows a va- riety of companies from different in- dustries to convert customer visits in- to analysable data. A platform helps such companies to use their data to improve the shopping experience and optimise the customer journey. This is made possible through perso- nalised advertising and the creation of more relevant and thus more ef- fective marketing campaigns at the point of sale. Retailers can set up and manage large-scale proximity infra- structures for beacons, geo fences and NFC tags. More international than ever Israel, Canada and Singapore to participate for the rst time E uroCIS has already exceeded its ex- hibitor record from last year: to the tune of 460 exhibitors will take part, oc- cupying approximately 14,000 square metres (2018: 13,406 square me- tres). Particularly worth men- tioning here is the event’s higher international participation: with 37 countries the organisers have registered as many nations as ever on the exhibitor side. Represented for the first time are Israel, Canada and Singapore, to name but three countries. Omni-channel strategies Omni-channel retail – i.e. address- ing shoppers via different but fully integrated channels – has become indispensable. This is why all solu- tions that support retailers in im- plementing their omni-channel strategies will play a prominent role at EuroCIS 2019. These include especially mobile solutions be it for supporting shop assistants, for interacting with shoppers’ smartphones and for mobile payment applications or for POS digitali- sation ensuring better service and emo- tionalising the store experience with smart mirrors, video walls or virtual re- ality. Also up and coming are IOT, AI and robotics. Here many things will be shift- ing over the next few years which is also highly relevant for retail. These themes will also move centre stage at the exhibi- tors’ stands at EuroCIS 2019. On all three days of the trade fair the proven EuroCIS Forum will again present developments, innovations and trends for retail tech- nology using current business cases as examples (German/English). Highlights this year will include the following talks: “Empowering the Art of Retail”, “Store Innovation” and “The Added Value of Tailor-made Self Service”. The Omnichannel Forum (simultaneous German/English) will revolve around the optimal networking of the various dis- tribution channels both on and offline. Challenges and opportunities will be demonstrated and discussed in the following lectures: “Punctual and Reliable across all Channels: Challenges for a Furniture Retail- er”, “Digital Store Solution: Om- nichannel in Practice” and “Stock Virtualisation and Interstore Order Management System”. Guided Tours This year will again see the “Guid- ed Retail Technology Innovation Tours” organised jointly by Messe Düsseldorf and the renowned re- tail expert Joachim Pinhammer (German/English). The 2019 focal themes of the 90-minute guided tours will be: better service for shoppers by means of innovative tech- nologies such as sensors, automation and Artificial Intelligence; efficient pro- cesses at outlets, enabled by modern communication technology; and sales and cost optimisation by means of da- ta analysis and use of the latest soft- ware technologies.
