Juni 2019 in ihre nächste Runde. Gemein- sam mit Metec, Thermprocess und Newcast bildet die GIFA das Messequartett der „Bright World of Metals“. Insgesamt rund 2 000 Aussteller werden in Düsseldorf erwartet. Premiere hat die Sonderschau Ad- ditive Manufacturing auf der GIFA in Halle 13. Ob im Modell- und For- menbau, in der Kernherstellung oder im direkten Metalldruck – Gießereien und ihren Zulieferern erschließen sich durch die addi- tive Fertigung ungeahnte Poten- ziale, heißt es in Düsseldorf. „Mit unserer Sonderschau wollen wir die Plattform bieten, diese Poten- ziale zu erschließen“, sagt Gerrit Nawracala, Deputy Director Met- als and Flow Technology Messe Düsseldorf. „Vor allem für die Themen E-Mo- bilität und die Leichtbauweise in der Automobilindustrie werden von der GIFA starke Impulse ausgehen. Das hat erst jüngst eine vom Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie in- itiierte Studie zum Einfluss der Elektromobilität auf die Gießerei- Industrie und ihre Produkte erar- beitet. So erfordern alternative Antriebskonzepte wie Hybrid- und Elektro-Antriebe eine im Vergleich zum alleinigen Antrieb mit Verbrennungsmotoren bis 2030 steigende Gussmenge.“ Voraussichtlich wird der Peak in der Gussnachfrage erst 2030 er- reicht sein, so die Studie des BDG – beste Voraussetzungen also für die GIFA 2019. Über 900 Aussteller aus allen maßgeblichen Ländern werden sich in den Hallen 10 bis 13 und 15 bis 17 auf der GIFA präsentieren, heißt es bei den Veranstaltern. Zuletzt – im Jahr 2015 – zog das Messequartett aus GIFA, Metec, Newcast und Thermprocess auf dem Düsseldorfer Messegelände rund 78000 Besucher an. Dates for Moulding Expo 2019 have been fixed The dates for the third edition of Moulding Expo, the International Trade Fair for Tool, Pattern and Mould Making, have been decided. The most important rep- resentatives of the industry will again be present at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre on 21 to 24 May 2019, the organiser Messe Stuttgart announced. The ex- hibitors, representatives of partner associations BVMF, VDMA, VDW and VDWF and Messe Stuttgart jointly decided on setting the time frame in late spring 2019. The dates also provide exhibitors and visitors to Moulding Expo 2019 with newways to con- nect to an industry that has many overlaps within the tool, pattern and mould making sector. On 21 to 23 May 2019, the third edition of Moulding Expo will run concurrently with the Automotive Show. Steel technologies and applications at 4th ESTAD From 24 to 28 June 2019, the 4th European Steel Technology and Applica- tion Days (ESTAD) will on- ce again accompany the International Metallurgy Trade Fair (Metec), which will take place for the tenth time. The Steel Ins- titute VDEh is thus sti- cking to the tradition of accompanying the Metec with a technical confe- rence. The 4th ESTAD is organised by the Steel Insti- tute VDEh in cooperation with its partners, the Aus- trian Society for Metallurgy and Materials, Jernkontoret and the Associazione Italiana di Metal- lurgia. The conference will focus on all technical top- ics relating to steel, its production and applications, as well as environmental and energy aspects. This gives participants the opportunity to obtain compre- hensive first-hand information. The programme for 2019 is divided into five thematic areas: Ironmaking; Steelmaking; Rolling and forging; Steel materials and their application, additive manufacturing, surface technologies; Environmental and energy aspects.
