The global industrial sector is in the midst of a period of major transformation, driven primarily by the megatrends of digitisation, individualisation and climate protec- tion. So it’s not surprising that there is a lot of re- search being done in these areas where innovative solutions and new approaches are being pur- sued. Through the EUROGUSS Talent Award, NürnbergMesse aims to recognise outstanding fi- nal degree papers and reward the emerging talent of the future. The papers can cover topics such as in- novations, improvements or new applications in die casting and the entire supply chain. Submissions will be accepted until 31 October 2019. The winners will be officially announced at EUROGUSS 2020, which will take place at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 14 to 16 January 2020. Graduates with bachelor’s or master’s degrees can submit the topic of their papers for conside- ration for the EUROGUSS Talent Award in the form of an abstract in German or English. The award is designed to acknowledge emer- ging talent in the die casting sec- tor. It is a condition of entry that the paper must have been com- pleted by the time it is submitted. In addition, applicants need a tes- timonial from a university, other tertiary education establishment, research institute or company. “We are already looking forward to receiving lots of entries with innovative projects and research results,” says Christopher Boss, Director and International Pro- ject Manager of EUROGUSS. “We would also like to explicitly encou- rage international students to get involved and cordially invite them to EUROGUSS 2020,” he adds. An international panel of experts, consisting of representatives from the R&D community and in- dustry, will select the best papers. The winners will be informed by 6 December 2019.
