••• 10••• Messewelten Platform for hip and creative ideas At CEBIT, scale11 is a springboard for hip and creative new business ideas from Germany and around the world. Held in Hall 27, it will give more than 350 young enter- prises from 40 nations the oppor- tunity to network with market in- cumbents, investors and other lateral thinkers. At the scale11 platform, prospec- tive investors and partners will find an absolute wealth of vision- ary business ideas. For example, a company will be at this year’s scale11 with the world’s first mil- limeter-accurate AR-based indoor navigation system that does not require any additional hardware. The show will also feature vari- ous other exciting startup-centric events and formats, including the scale11 startup stage with its live pitches, as well as various panel discussions, community areas and business speed-dating sessions. For example, on the Expert Stage, the German Startups Association (BVDS) will be running informa- tion and discussion events star- ring noted representatives from the startup scene, influencers, in- vestors and political leaders. d!talk healthcare conference in Hall 26 This year ’ s d!talk healthcare con- ference on Digital Health explores the impacts of digitization on the healthcare sector as well as state- of-the-art ICT applications and their ability to optimize health- care service delivery. According to a survey by Ger- man ICT association BITKOM and Bayrische TelemedAllianz (BTA), around 45 per cent of German smartphone owners use health apps to monitor and record body and fitness related data. Germans are also increasingly requesting digital versions of their patient information. 32 per cent of re- spondents had already received test results on CD-ROM, while 43 per cent stated that they would prefer to receive their test re- sults in digital form in the future. Showcases, Pro- duktneuheiten und Ergebnisse aus den Forschungslaboren veran- schaulichen das Potenzial. „In einigen Arbeitsfeldern sind uns Maschinen schon heute überle- gen“, erklärt Prof. Christian Bauck- hage, Lead Scientist für maschinel- les Lernen am Fraunhofer IAIS und einer der zahlreichen Top-Referen- ten der CEBIT 2018. „Zum Beispiel, wenn es darum geht, komplizier- te Daten auszuwerten, auf deren Analyse das menschliche Gehirn nicht spezialisiert ist. Bei typischen Alltagstätigkeiten wie Treppensteigen oder Spül- maschine einräumen, über die wir gar nicht groß nachdenken, wird es noch länger dauern, bis Maschinen das so gut können wie wir Menschen.“ Marktforscher sehen in der künstlichen Intelligenz (KI) den Technologietrend der kommenden zehn Jahre. Kognitive Systeme, die eigenständig lernen und Entscheidungen treffen, werden vie- le Lebensbereiche und Branchen verändern. Nach einer aktuellen Bitkom-Studie betrachten die Deutschen dabei die Medizin (31 Prozent) und die Mobilität (28 Pro- zent) als wichtigste Einsatzfelder. Das Bundesministerium für Bil- dung und Forschung hat eigens ei- ne Experten-Plattform „Lernende Systeme“ eingerichtet, die die Zu- sammenarbeit von Forschung und Wirtschaft verbessern und klären soll, wie Lernende Systeme dem Menschen nützlich sein können. Die Plattform wird am 12. und 13. Juni auf der CEBIT in Halle 27 zahl- reiche Forschungsprojekte und Er- gebnisse präsentieren.
