GED is actively supported by 41 associations, and coordinated by UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry. GED aims to raise awareness on a global scale of the exhibition industry, how it benefits the economy, and the variety of career opportunities it has to offer. As with previous GED events, industry professionals and students around the world have been very active in the GED online campaign and many organisations are also preparing local events for GED18.
Participating associations around the world are uploading their GED18 activities to a dedicated website. There are all kinds of planned initiatives on there already, including the Leaders Forum Dinner in Australia organised by EEAA; the Global Exhibitions Run in France put in place by UNIMEV; ‘The Power of Italian Exhibitions’ campaign ran by AEFI in Italy, the Russian Exhibition Industry Conference in Russia organised by RUEF; and lobbying efforts to legislators in the US through IAEE. Germany’s AUMA has also aligned its annual “Messetreff” event with GED.

Global Exhibitions Day on 6 June
Global Exhibitions Day (GED) is a celebration of the exhibition industry as a whole and everyone who works in it – and it’s just a few days away. Always held on the first Wednesday in June, this year’s celebrations are scheduled for 6 June, UFI - The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, announces.

Expoforum and Ifema win poster competition
The jury of the 22nd International Fair Poster Competition has announced this year's Grand Award winners. In the first category, Expoforum International in Russia was recognised for its "Nested Russian Doll" poster. GED 2018: activities in 85 countries
Exhibition professionals around the world came out in record numbers for the third Global Exhibitions Day (GED) in June. Not only did this highlight the industry’s role as a driver of economic growth, but also established GED 2018 as the biggest day of advocacy for the exhibition world so far, according to data from UFI. Nine UFI events confirmed for 2018 – New leadership
At present, nine UFI events are confirmed for 2018 including the 85th UFI Global Congress in St. Petersburg, Russia (31 October - 3 November 2018).
