Thanks to the addition of another hall, there is more space available than in the previous year. “In the past, there have been waiting lists for some areas. Now we finally have the opportunity to offer the demanded space,” says opti Project Manager, Bettina Reiter. In addition, existing areas such as the opti forum and the opti campus can be expanded and thereby create new offers. The increased space also makes wider aisles possible. “This puts a better spotlight on the individual stands and makes it easier for the visitors to move through the halls.” A new lounge section shall also provide them with space for networking and communication.
In addition to the full product range, the trade show wants to continue to offer what it has been known for in previous years: a clear structure and easy orientation. “It was important for us to take the needs of exhibitors and visitors into account for the integration of the new halls,” explains Reiter. Based on interview and survey results, the new structure has been (further) developed, which ensures clear segmentation, perfect layout planning, and balanced distribution of visitor flows, the organizer states.

opti to expand to six halls
From January 25th to the 27th 2019, opti will expand to the new Halls C5 and C6 at Fairground Munich, thus taking place in six halls (C1 to C6) for the first time. Consequently, the range of products and services will be even more extensive this time.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT in Aachen has expanded its machinery with a new system for the automated molding of high-precision optical glass components. As a result, the institute is now the only research institution in Europe able to offer research on efficient small-series production of small glass optics using a wafer-level approach.
