Promoting sustainable rail transport – an aspiration shared by rail associations from different countries and continents: However, direct discussions and economic cooperation are needed in order to attain this objective. InnoTrans 2016, from 20 to 23 September, provides plenty of opportunities for personal contacts. Over four days the industry’s leading representatives will be discussing vital issues and thereby helping to prepare the rail transport sector for the future.
31 of the world’s leading associations, with selected member companies, will be represented the next time that the world’s leading trade fair for transport technology takes place. Over two-thirds of them will be coming from abroad, for example from Europe, the USA and Asia. Industrial associations account for 18 of these groups. They provide the necessary economic and technological impetus to ensure that the transport sector continues to offer innovative services and extensive employment opportunities. The international composition of the exhibiting associations, together with their pronounced industrial character, enhance the value of InnoTrans as one of the leading global event for the industry.
Among the organisations represented on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds will be the German Railway Industry Association (VDB), the Association of the European Rail Industry (UNIFE), the SWISSRAIL Industry Association and the Chung-Hwa Railway Industry Development Association (CRIDA). The Portuguese federation ‘Plataforma Ferroviária Portuguesa‘ (PFP) is making its first appearance here this year.
