In 2019 the annual general meeting of EASA will be held during the Trade Fair Dangerous Goods & Dangerous Materials in Leipzig. The European umbrella organisation will also be considerably stepping up its international communications about the trade fair in its 20 member states, the organizer says. EASA will furthermore be contributing to the content of the “European Dangerous Goods Day”, scheduled to take place on 10 and 11 April 2019 during the Trade Fair Dangerous Goods & Dangerous Materials. Lastly, the organisation will also have its own stand where trade visitors will be able to find out about the tasks and functions of EASA and which will serve as a communications centre for international trade visitors.
EASA currently has more than 3,000 members in 25 national associations and 20 European countries. “By accepting to be an endorsing sponsor, we want to put the potential for synergy between the trade fair and EASA to good use. The Trade Fair Dangerous Goods & Dangerous Materials is the ideal terrain for bringing together all the industry players, from logistics specialists to dangerous goods officers. Our confederation acts as a hub for different national regulations and legal interpretations and may, perhaps, give substance to European harmonisation in this domain,” explains Gaston Zens, General Secretary of EASA. “By working together with the trade fair, we hope to further raise awareness of this industry platform.”
