Shoulder of meat from Baden, ahle sausage from Hesse or Freiberg eierschecke cake: Regional specialities go down a treat with consumers and can be sampled in all their diversity at the International Green Week Berlin 2019. From 18 to 27 January some 500 exhibitors will be presenting their own regional delicacies.

Thirteen of Germany’s federal states are represented in eight halls on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds, showing the wide range of regional food, beverages and luxury products that are available. In settings reflecting their own particular landscapes. Local specialities with a typical regional flavour are being exhibited by Baden-Württemberg (Hall 5.2b), Bavaria (22b), Berlin (21b), Brandenburg (21a), Hesse (22a), Mecklenburg-West Pomerania (5.2b), Lower Saxony (20), North Rhine-Westphalia (5.2a), Rhineland-Palatinate (2.2), Saxony (21b), Saxony-Anhalt (23b), Schleswig-Holstein (22a) and Thuringia (20).
During the Green Week certain days will be devoted to several of Germany’s federal states. Each of these so-called States’ Days will feature a special programme of events: Saturday, 19 January 2019: Thuringia, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania; Sunday, 20 January 2019: Baden-Württemberg; Monday, 21 January 2019: Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Brandenburg.
