Fruit Logistica to present healthy variety

At this year’s Fruit Logistica, countless exhibitors from the convenience and organic foods segments will be presenting their products along the Convenience and Organic Routes. Buyers, trade visitors and other interested parties can compile individual routes from the pool of participating exhibitors.

Rising demand for convenience and organic foods: on the Convenience and Organic Routes, Fruit Logisitica visitors will obtain a well-founded overview of what the market is offering in the fields of organic and fresh convenience products.
“With the Convenience and Organic Routes, Fruit Logistica has created a tool that enables trade visitors to obtain a well-founded overview of what the market is offering in the fields of organic and fresh convenience products. Only certified organic exhibitors and established manufacturers of convenience products are represented along these routes”, explains Madlen Miserius, Senior Product Manager at Fruit Logistica.

According to a study conducted by Zion Market Research, worldwide sales of organic foods are expected to nearly triple by the year 2024, reaching a total value of $323 billion. Organic fruit and vegetables will constitute a large share of this increase. The same applies to the fresh convenience product segment, where convenience foods in general are expected to see an increase in revenues. The Asian market in particular has experienced rapid growth over the past years. China and India recorded revenues of over $20 billion. But the USA remains the global frontrunner, with revenues of over $40 billion. In Europe, the UK in particular is focused on ready-to-eat foods. But the consumption of convenience products has also increased in Germany, with revenues of $6 billion in 2018. This corresponds to a per capita consumption of over 70 kg. (Statista 2018)

Furthermore, trade visitors can now use “Spotlight – Premieres and Innovations at Fruit Logistica 2019” to prepare for the leading fair for the global fresh produce trade. More than half of the 83 reports published in “Spotlight” focus on world premieres.

That’s 20 more than last year. This significant increase impressively underscores the status of Fruit Logistica as an innovation platform. The 83 “Spotlights” will be presented by exhibitors from 18 different countries on four continents. Madlen Miserius, Fruit Logistica Senior Product Manager: “The significant increase in ‘Spotlight’ world premieres shows a growing industry interest in using Fruit Logistica as a visionary forum to present world premieres and innovations.”

Together with the Fruit Logistica Innovation Award, the Future Lab and the newly created Start-up Day, “Spotlight” clearly reflects the industry’s innovative strength. “Spotlight” offers the trade media and visitors exciting insights into the latest trends and products.
