Considering that the exhibition venue is also home to Husum Wind, one of the most important wind trade fairs there is, Husum is effectively the hub of Germany’s energy transition, the energiewende.
Presentation platform for decentralised renewable energy
New Energy Husum is one of the most important trade fairs in the renewable energy sector. It has served as the presentation platform for decentralised renewable energy generation since 2002. It covers topics and technologies from small wind turbines (up to 100 kW capacity), biogas utilisation, solid biomass (pellets, firewood and wood chips for heating systems), solar heating, heat pumps, CHP, photovoltaics, heating grids, energy storage systems to electric vehicles and energy efficient and eco-friendly building.
At the exhibition and visitors’ forums, visitors to the fair can find out everything about energy efficient building concepts, using and storing renewable energy, and how they themselves can generate heating and power. The stands featuring electric vehicles are enhanced by a large test track in the outside area.
Lots of workshops in addition
In addition to the exhibition, visitors can expect a comprehensive, daily-changing programme of events. There are several workshops and discussion sessions that run parallel to the exhibition, which are organised in association with renowned institutions and professional associations from the world of politics, business and industry.
The congress gives trade visitors the opportunity to find out about the latest technology and exchange ideas and experiences with experts. The international small wind turbine industry is also coming together at the "Word Summit for Small Wind", the small wind turbine wind industry’s most important event. Next New Energy Husum will take place from 16 to 19 March 2017.

Petersen new head of Messe Husum & Congress
Arne Petersen (46) has taken the helm of Messe Husum & Congress as managing director with effect from 1 January 2018, replacing Peter Becker (49), who leaves the company at the end of the year. Also new to the team is Andrea Werner, the new project manager for HUSUM Wind. (more…)
