With Canada emerging as a leader in clean and sustainable economic growth powered by renewable energy, Solar Canada 2017 expanded on an established tradition of attracting industry experts and thought leaders to discuss the opportunities and challenges related to solar power. Some of the high profile speakers at this year’s event included the Honourable James Carr, Minister of Natural Resources Canada; the Honourable Glenn Thibeault, Ontario Minister of Energy; and the Honourable Rachel Notley, Premier of Alberta.
“With Alberta’s Climate Leadership Plan, we can tackle climate change without leaving working people behind’, proclaimed Premier Notley. “So let’s go solar. Let’s go renewable. Let’s make sure our energy industry is part of the climate solution – one that will help all of Canada to prosper.”
“Many future opportunities in the renewable energy sector can be found across Canada, with the most significant in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan”, said Larry Turner, President of Hannover Fairs. “In recognition of western Canada’s leadership, and for the first time ever, the Solar Canada Conference and Exhibition will take place in Western Canada in June 2018.”
Solar Canada is organised by the Canadian Solar Industries Association (CanSIA) and Hannover Fairs (Canada), Inc., an subsidiary of Deutsche Messe.
Solar Canada 2018 will take place in Calgary, Alberta from June 20-21, 2018.

Solar Canada 2017 Conference and Exhibition, held at the Toronto Metro Convention Centre from December 4-5, continues to be Canada's largest and most important solar power event.
