For five days all centres around construction machinery and vehicles, mining and the corresponding equipment. This year, the trade fair takes place in Algiers from 21 to 25 November 2018 at Palais des Expositions.
Algeria, Africa’s biggest country, is noted for its extensive crude oil and gas deposits. The surpluses from the oil business currently are flowing into a massive modernization and expansion of the country’s infrastructure. Obviously, the construction industry in particular benefits from that development: About 70 per cent of the investments within the Algerian program for economic promotion have been budgeted for big infrastructure projects in road and rail networks, housing construction and building and extension of public institutions. Imports play an important role in that process: About 85 per cent of the required construction machinery and vehicles have to be brought into the country from abroad.
Partner of the sitp is the Algerian ministry for construction which introduces among other things the planning of public projects. In Algeria, good contacts to the appropriate ministries are crucial to initiate commissions which are often placed as part of political visits.
International partner of the trade fair is IMAG GmbH, a subsidiary of Messe München, which supports companies with their trade fair attendance in Algeria.
