Bangkok benefits from the boom in Thailand’s construction industry in particular
architect takes place for the 33rd time from 30 April to 5 May 2019 under the motto “Living Green”. About 400,000 visitors and 850 national and international exhibitors are expected to fill around 60,000 square meters gross exhibition space. Seminars and panels with international speakers round off the exhibition, an exhibitor forum gives companies the opportunity to present their products live.

Currently, Thailand's construction industry is booming. Experts expect this trend to continue for the longer term, attaching more and more importance to the concept “Green Building”. As a result, promising market opportunities are opening up for international companies which are involved in planning, constructing and designing of buildings.

In 2017 Thailand invested almost 36 billion US dollars in public and private construction projects. The institute Krungsi Research has forecasted an annual increase in construction investments between seven and nine per cent until 2020. The focus lies on higher environmental and energy standards. Since the middle of 2018, a so-called Building Energy Code has been in force in Bangkok for existing buildings with more than 10,000 square meters and all new buildings to guarantee more energy efficiency and environment protection. Central elements of the regulation are construction materials, building structures, hot water, lighting and renewable energies.

IMAG GmbH, a subsidiary of Messe München, is international sales partner of architect'19.

What does this all mean for the bathroom? Lawyer Jens J. Wischmann, Managing Director of the Association of the German Sanitary Industry (VDS) and joint founder of the trend platform Pop up my Bathroom, sets out the three most important trends in bathroom design, discusses the coming surge in renovation for private bathrooms, and what he hopes ISH digital 2021 will bring.
