SPS IPC Drives is Europe’s leading exhibition for electric automation
The level of growth has led to the topics of focus being reorganized in certain halls: the theme of mechanical infrastructure, previously represented in Hall 6, will be located together with industrial communication providers in Hall 2 and in the newly added Hall 10.1. Trade visitors can look forward to numerous highlights and product innovations not only in these three halls but also throughout the exhibition. With digital transformation being a leading subject at SPS IPC Drives this year, Hall 6 will be dedicated solely to the fusion of IT and automation for the first time. Software specialists for instance, will be showing how digitalization can realize potential benefits in costs and efficiency based on a series of projects and practical examples.

In the same hall, security in automation will also be playing an important role. For example a new solution is shown, that can interface with machines from a variety of manufacturers to collect, analyze, and filter data on their condition and performance, or transfer it securely to monitoring systems or into the cloud. This solution is secure by design, which guarantees a high level of protection in often vulnerable machine-LAN (and machine-Internet) interfaces. This makes it possible to exchange data in a secure and targeted manner in production environments.

In hall 2 the focus lies on redictive maintenance alongside servo and feedback cables. For example an automated smart quality management system for use in manufacturing is exhibited in hall 2. The application is based on cloud technologies via which sensor data is collected and evaluated. The solution is an extended form of predictive maintenance that identifies quality problems in advance in order to plan maintenance, spot assembly errors or even halt production processes automatically. At the homepage of the SPS IPC Drives you can register for a day ticket free of charge. SPS IPC Drives takes place in Nuremberg, Germany.
