NürnbergMesse goes Bollywood: The CEOs, Dr. Roland Fleck (r) and Peter Ottmann, are delighted about the new event in the NürnbergMesse India portfolio with Managing Director Sonia Prashar (l) in charge. The "Broadcast India Show" had been organized by Kavita Meer since 1991.

Peter Ottmann, CEO of the NürnbergMesse Group, und Sonia Prashar, Managing Director of NürnbergMesse India, announced the deal at a press conference on the last day of the show. "Broadcast India is a show with a long tradition and impressive record," explained Sonia Prashar. "We see further potential for the show to grow together with the industry it serves."

Bollywood is booming: According to a study by The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) and Deloitte, the Indian film industry will grow by eleven per cent by 2017. Broadcast India has successfully supported this industry for 26 years – and from next year, it will do so under the partnership of NürnbergMesse India. Ramesh and Kavita Meer, the founders of the trade show, specially picked NürnbergMesse as the new show partner: "We have known NürnbergMesse India and specifically Sonia Prashar for years and are certain that she and her team will carry on the long tradition of the show." Ramesh and Kavita Meer will continue working alongside NürnbergMesse India and support and be part of the future editions of Broadcast India.

"Bollywood Supplier Expo"

The 26th edition of Broadcast India took place from October 20th to 22nd in the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. Exhibitors displayed products and services aimed at the entertainment industry, ranging from cameras and satellite technology to visual effects software. This portfolio has earned Broadcast India the nickname "Bollywood Supplier Expo". About 580 companies showed innovations for this dynamic market over a total area of over 4,000 square meters. The show was accompanied by a two-day conference, where managers and technical experts shared insights into current trends and topics including streaming, management and video of Virtual Reality and resolutions of 4K and beyond.

"Ramesh and Kavita Meer have established Broadcast India as the leading trade fair for the Indian entertainment industry, and we thank them for their efforts," said Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, CEOs of the NürnbergMesse Group. "In line with NürnbergMesse strategy, we will use our excellent global connections to attract more international exhibitors and visitors to the event." NürnbergMesse is based in Nuremberg, Bavaria, where it welcomes about 27,000 exhibitors to its trade-fair location each year. In addition, it is present in the most important growth markets around the globe. In 2013, the company founded NürnbergMesse India, one of five subsidiaries, and Broadcast India will be NürnbergMesse India’s eighth trade show. NürnbergMesse also has international representatives serving companies in 117 countries providing services such as advice on visas or logistics for companies interested in exhibiting at or visiting trade shows.
