In der Innovations- und Zukunftshalle B4 werden rund 30 Newcomer aus Ro- botik und Automation im Rahmen der Start-up Arena erwartet. RobotUnion, das von der Europäischen Kommission unterstützte Programm für Robotik, be- lohnt einen Finalisten mit einer Wildcard für seinen Förderwettbewerb. Die Start-Up-Arena bietet auch die Chance der Teilnahme an einem exklusiven „Acce- leration Programme“ mit RobotUnion, über das bis zu 223000 Euro Eigenkapital ausgeschüttet werden. Robotics innovations for a smart factory The supporting program comprises forums, conferences, special shows and demonstrations According to the World Robotics Report 2017 published by the IFR, Europe is in the lead with 99 units, followed by America with 84 and Asia with 63. Germany has third place behind South Korea and Sin- gapore with 309 units in ranking the highest automated countries in the world. Collaborative robots: from fair to factory How fast today pioneering robot- ics developments find their way from the trade fair to the factory hall is proven by collaborative ro- bots. They work in a car assembly side by side with people without a protective fence. The “adhesive application with ro- bot assistance” provides valuable support for the installation of CFK roofs in coupés. With it, a German car manufacturer uses an MRK lightweight robot for the applica- tion of adhesive in final assembly for the first time in its main fac- tory. Similar robots are already in- tegrated into production in body- work construction as well as in engine assembly. At Automatica, the topics of co- bots and human-robot collabora- tion will be the focus. Under the motto “Industrial intelligence 4.0 beyond automation”, an exhibi- tor proves how far the most ad- vanced approaches are. It has laid the foundation for sensitive and secure collaboration between man and machine. In the future, however, the robot will become an everyday companion of peo- ple. For this purpose, all inter- faces must be simplified – as for programming, commissioning, operation, analysis or service. But Automatica is not just the world’s biggest offering of automation components, systems and solu- tions. The supporting program comprising forums, conferences, special shows and practical dem- onstrations sheds light on all fac- ets of automation. Among the top themes are: digital transfor- mation in manufacturing, human- robot collaboration, Work 4.0, service robotics, cloud and big da- ta applications, predictive mainte- nance and investments in robotics and automation. IT2Industry IT2Industry is Automatica’s inte- grated topic area, addressing the interface between automation and IT. More than 50 exhibitors both from the classical IT fields and specialist providers from the industry are showcasing them- selves in a combination of lecture program and exhibition. The fo- cus, inter alia, is on ERP and MES software solutions for optimizing production and logistics process- es, modular software solutions for predictive maintenance, cloud and big data applications for man- ufacturing industry, and fall back options for the smooth operation of networked industrial facilities. In addition, the IT2Industry Forum offers exhibitor lectures, key- notes and stimulating discussion sessions covering Industry 4.0, IoT and Artificial Intelligence (venue: hall B4, stand 216).
