Exhibitors will present innovative charging so- lutions and technologies for use in the e-mobility sector. Accord- ing to a study conducted by the Technical University of Munich, by 2030 the number of electric vehi- cles on the road in Germany could climb from currently 130 000 to approximately eight million. However, this will only be pos- sible if sufficient charging sta- tions, including high-speed charging stations, are made available. The study also pre- dicts that the number of sta- tions in Germany could stand at around 4.7 million by 2030, including 200 000 high-speed charging stations and 2.5 million privately owned stations. In Sep- tember 2017, only 4 730 public stations were in operation. High-speed charging stations are key to the success of e-mobility solu- tions. Theymake even long journeys on highways possible, thanks to their ability to charge batteries to 80 per cent capacity in just 20 minutes. The batteries are only charged to four-fifths of their capacity because the final 20 per cent would take much longer, since they cannot be charged with as much power at this stage. In light of this, many manu- facturers are working on innova- tive high-power charging (HPC) solutions with power outputs as high as 350 kilowatts. Develop- ers of HPC technology also have their sights set on increasing the voltage of future systems from 230 volts or 400 volts to a stag- gering 800 volts. This would bring numerous benefits by shortening charging times and reducing the required cable diameters and the weight of vehicle components. In addition to apps developed by vehicle manufacturers, charging station operators and mobility providers, there are also a num- ber of private apps available that show drivers the quickest route to the nearest charging point. An exhibitor has created an app of- fering a digital map that locates charging stations quickly and eas- ily across Europe. The app, which also shows details of the availabil- ity of the stations, their charging speed and prices, has gathered information on more than 64000 charging stations in 25 countries and is constantly updated. The charging infrastructure is crucial for the success of e-vehicles. PV cleaning robot removes dirt from modules efficient, thorough, fast and safe The company STAUDINGER GMBH based in Bad Grönenbach (Allgäu, Germany) has, among other things, dedicated itself to solar module cleaning. Decades of experience in mechanical en- gineering are showing their best in this high-tech product. Deve- lopment, design, production and electrics all under one roof, with a vertical integration of more than 90 percent, guarantee high quali- ty and uncompromising enginee- ring. The HELIOS PV cleaning robot sticks to even the steepest roofs with its sophisticated sys- tem and cleans the solar modules with consistently excellent qua- lity, without having to enter the roof. Special brushes ensure gent- le cleaning and the use of demine- ralised water requires no chemical additives. A wide range of additional equip- ment enables universal use of the robot for roof systems, solar parks and elevated systems. Due to the enormous surface cleaning capa- city of up to 800 m² / h, the de- vice pays for itself within a short time and is thus particularly eco- nomical.
