Total commercial exchanges amounted to about 780 million euros, the association Anima Confindustria reports. In 2017 there was a slight decrease in exports (minus 2,8 per cent) to- wards the countries of the Associ- ation of Southeast Asian Nations. Trade relations with Indonesia grew plus 35,9 per cent and the Philippines plus 38,6 per cent, while Thailand and Singapore re- duced orders for 41 per cent and 31,3 per cent respectively. “We ex- pect a great demand for high class energy efficiency technologies from cooling systems and water treatment technology, as well as industrial components and equip- ment (valves, pumps, pressure equipment, turbines) from the largest markets in the world,” said Alberto Caprari, President Anima Confindustria. In the next three years Anima Confindustria aims to strengthen ties with the govern- ment, institutions, trade associa- tions of ASEAN countries. It will do so through fairs, B2B missions and events dedicated to the show- case of Italian technological excel- lence. It will also host the B2B ses- sions in Italy dedicated to ASEAN partners.
