••• 10••• Messewelten Brand-new showcase at HannoverMesse Plasma and Laser Surface Technology Pavilion at SurfaceTechnology Area for the rst time T his year’s Hannover Messe will feature a brand-new showcase: the Plasma and Laser Surface Technology Pavilion. The group exhibit aims to raise aware- ness of the applications and in- novative potential of the latest plasma and laser systems. It will be located in the SurfaceTechnol- ogy Area which has been moved to the Industrial Supply show (Hall 6) and covers the full spectrum of surface finishing solutions. Among the participating exhibi- tors is a highly innovative and ISO 9001:2015-certified developer, manufacturer and distributor of components and materials for vacuum pumped plasma coating systems and thin film systems. The company also operates its own bond shop where it conducts custom coating of bulk materials and contact layers. At the pavil- ion, the exhibitor will present its latest lightweight construction solutions, including scratch-proof and optical coatings for plastic substrates, as well as its latest plasma nitriding system. Prototype coating The Fraunhofer Institute for Sur- face Engineering and Thin Films (IST) will also be on hand to show- case its R&D expertise. Fraun- hofer IST develops coatings and coating processes (including pre- treatment) for industrial clients. Its services span the entire R&D chain, from simulation and ana- lytics, product optimization and prototype coating, right through to system commissioning. Keynote themes at the pavilion in- clude friction and wear reduction of components and tools, thin film sensors for industry 4.0 ap- plications and the latest develop- ments in adaptive manufacturing. Two German industry networks will round out the offering by providing an overview of the di- verse applications of plasma and laser surface technologies as well as relevant German business and research contacts. Both net- works are active members of the German Federal Ministry for Eco- nomic Affairs and Energy’s “go cluster” excellence programme and both have been awarded the Silver Label of the European Clus- ter Excellence Initiative (ECEI). Their brief is to organize technical seminars, workshops and confer- ences for their respective constit- uencies, to facilitate knowledge sharing and mentoring. Photo: Deutsche Messe Messemarke O&S ist Geschichte Neuer Name „SurfaceTechnology GERMANY“ – Internationale Ausrichtung Der Messename „O&S“ ist Ge- schichte: Wenn die Fachmesse für Oberflächentechnik vom 5. bis 7. Juni 2018 in Stuttgart ihre Tore öffnet, wird der neue Name bereits eingeführt sein: Surface- Technology GERMANY. Messe- profil, Turnus, Termin und Stand- ort bleiben gleich, teilte die Deutsche Messe mit. „Der Na- me SurfaceTechnology GERMANY steht für das gesamte Spektrum der Oberflächentechnik und spie- gelt damit exakt das wider, was unsere Aussteller alle zwei Jahre an drei Tagen Anfang Juni in Stutt- gart präsentieren: alle Materialien und alle Branchen – auf einer Mes- se“, sagt Olaf Daebler, zuständig für die Zulieferungs- und Ober- flächentechnik-Messen der Deut- schen Messe. Die Abkürzung O&S stand seit 2008 für „Ober- flächen und Schichten“ und war damit nicht nur etwas enger ge- fasst, sondern fokussierte auch mehr auf ein deutschsprachiges Publikum. Dabei sei die Messe klar international ausgerichtet, hieß es. 2016 kamen 23 Prozent der Aussteller und 21 Prozent der Fach- besucher aus dem Ausland. Aus O&S wird „SurfaceTechnolo- gy GERMANY“. Foto: Deutsche Messe Zu r SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2017 hat das Teamder Messe Essen die Hallen erstmals übersicht- lich nach thematisch pas- senden Schwerpunkten neu geordnet. Fachbesu- cher sollen sich dadurch noch leichter orientieren können. In diesem Jahr ist die Messe einmalig zu Gast in Düsseldorf. Vom 25. bis 29. Septem- ber 2017 präsentieren Aussteller aus aller Welt die komplette Wer t- schöpfungskette rund um das Fügen, Trennen und Beschichten – mit Produkten und Dienstleistungen von der Formgebung über die Vorbehandlung und die Nachbehandlung bis hin zur Prüfung der Werke. Aufgrund der Modernisierungsarbeiten der Messe Essen ist die SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEIDEN 2017 ein- malig zu Gast in Düsseldorf. Erste Details des Rah- menprogramms stehen derweil bereits fest: Einen Einblick in ihre herausfordernde Tätigkeit gibt der Ge- meinschaftsstand Unterwassertechnik in Halle 14 mit eigens eingerichteten Tauchcontainern. Zukunfts- weisende Lösungen präsentieren frisch gegründete Firmen am Gemeinschaftsstand „Junge Innovative Unternehmen“ in Halle 15. Über neue Oberflächenbe- schichtungsverfahren informiert der Gemeinschafts- stand „Thermisches Spritzen“ in Halle 15. Thematisch neu geordnet Präzisionsarbeit: Die SCHWEISSEN & SCHNEI- DEN rückt Neuerungen beim Fügen, Trennen und Beschichten in den Mittelpunkt.
