•••20••• Messewelten Powerful mix in Shanghai China Fruit Logistica to debut on 14-16 May, 2018 On 14-16 May in Shanghai, Fresh Produce Forum China (FPFC) re- turns with a new three-track pro- gramme format over three days, bringing China Fruit Logistica visi- tors a powerful mix of high-level discussions on the hot topics, ex- pert talks on the “how-to” of the business, and live interviews on the latest innovations and indus- try trends. Sessions on the FPFC Keynote Stage will focus on the big issues, including the future for Chinese brands, the changing shape of the China market, and the impact of New Retail for the country’s fresh produce business. Also featured are a series of regional showcase sessions zoning in on some of China’s fast-developing provinces in terms of production and marke- ting as well as category spotlights covering the rapidly emerging products in the China market. The FPFC Expert Stage is organised in- to three themed days. Day One fo- cuses on Production, with expert talks on a wide range of subjects from varietal development to co- vered cropping. Day Two turns the spotlight on Packaging & Mar- keting, looking at everything from sorting and grading solutions to how to use packaging for better merchandising of products. Day Three’s programme is dedi- cated to Logistics & Cold Chain, from the latest advances in con- trolled atmosphere technology to the best methods for deve- loping ripening systems. Mean- while, visitors can stop by the FPFC Media Studio, where there will a stream of quick-fire live in- terviews with key industry figu- res covering a range of market developments and innovations. From national and regional asso- ciations discussing industry ini- tiatives to exhibitors providing updates on the latest product launches, there will be plenty for visitors to take in. Photo: Koelnmesse New date: yummex Middle East in October Sweets and snacks fair to take place in parallel with “Speciality Food Festival” and “SEAFEX” I n 2018, yummex Middle East, the interna- tional trade fair for sweets and snacks in the MENA region, will take place from 30 October to 1 November, once again paral- lel with the “Speciality Food Festival” and “SEAFEX” trade fairs. The new date offers exhibitors and visitors numerous synergies for successfully access- ing market potential and business contacts. Yummex Middle East took place in 2017 al- ready for the 11th time and was convincing as the central, firmly established business platform for sweets and snacks in the ME- NA region. 333 exhibitors from 43 countries demonstrated the internationality of the event and presented their existing and new products and trends to 8,507 trade visitors from 111 countries. Represented for the first time were exhibi- tors from Argentina, Romania and Swit- zerland. The largest national participation came from Turkey, Germany and Malaysia. Companies jointly presented their sweets and snacks offerings for the region in 18 regional and international pavilions. “Yum- mex ME 2017 was a complete success. Ex- hibitors and trade visitors profited from extensive access to the retail and hospital- ity sectors, were able to utilise a variety of synergies and establish profitable business contacts.
