Curious about new vehicle trends? Find what you seek at the 2017 Connecticut International Auto Show, the state’s largest new car showroom, for three days only from 17 November to 19 November 2017 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. For their 2018 models, manufacturers have focused on technology and the American family. “There is new technology being deployed across a wider range of cars,” says Institute for Highway Safety Senior Analyst Stephanie Brinley. “There are cars that can communicate with the home, and the car is increasingly a part of the Internet of Things. The pace of integration has been rapid.” Connectivity exists between vehicles and infrastructure, as cameras and sensors work to help the driver stay aware of surroundings and help the vehicle avoid collisions. Connectivity also exists between vehicles and smart devices. Onboard Wi-Fi and app-based vehicle monitoring are more and more common, turning the vehicle into a hotspot while helping passengers connect to the world.
